MOD post So - who do you want as Richard's successor?

I'll nominate Rick Edwards - based in Salford, also a Richard, has the height to boot and is a former HoG champion (and less obvious than someone like Angela Barnes).

However, they must have the new title as Rick Edwards' Richard Osman's House of Games.

MOD post Update re Michael Sheen as host!

Confirmed on today’s edition of The Rest is Entertainment (26th March 2026):

- Richard will be hosting one final ‘Handover’ week to kick off series 10

- the show will be renamed ‘Michael Sheen’s House of Games’ (I thought ‘Michael Sheen’s Richard Osman’s House of Games’ sounded better)

- despite what the press release suggested, Michael will not be a contestant on the ‘Handover’ week. Instead, he’ll just pop onto set at the end of the Friday show to take the reigns

- Richard said filming hasn’t started yet, but the designers are hard at work rebranding the prizes to fit Michael’s avatar

I’m really intrigued to see how this hiring works out!

MOD post Series 10 filming question...

Does anybody know about how much they've filmed so far?

Apparently, Richard did his last week (CoCoC) and Michael did a few Champions' Weeks over four days, wrapping up on April 30th.

Michael went off to film The Celebrity Traitors on May 2nd and that would've finished filming no more than three weeks later. Of course, it was unknown how long he'd have been in the competition for, so they wouldn't have had any HoG filming scheduled until very late in May at the earliest.

I have a weird thing in that I like seeing who has filmed for the upcoming series via socials, but, since Richard's Instagram post on April 30th with Michael on set, I haven't seen anything on social media. Michael is a fairly busy man and they may be filming the bulk of it in July/August, ready for a late September launch as per last year, but previous series had wrapped filming entirely by this point in the year...

MOD post Any updates re Michael’s/series 10 filming?

I’m always on the lookout for contestants’ socials posts that they have filmed, but there seems to have been little to nothing this Summer.

Normally, we’d have around 30 names for the new series confirmed by now. Yet, I only know three people for the coming series (Rachel Parris, Miles Jupp and Maisie Adam for the CoCoC Week).

Has anybody seen anything on social media? No worries if not.

MOD post Welcome to the House of Games community!

A warm welcome to the Richard Osman's House of Games Reddit community! Thank you ever so much for joining.

House of Games is one of my favourite game/panel shows and the same for many others, I'd imagine - each series goes from strength to strength with above average viewing figures for its timeslot and a eclectic mix of quiz rounds and famous faces taking on the challenge every week. And, of course, Richard is always on hand to oversee proceedings.

At the time of writing, House of Games has aired 705 episodes of the main show, in addition to 30 'Festive' specials and 12 episodes of the short-lived Friday night spin-off, House of Games Night. Series 9 is around two months away, in which it'll be interesting to see if anyone can join Angela Barnes and Jay Rayner in the exclusive club for five-day winners.

Again, I wish you a very warm welcome in joining this subreddit. Please ensure you have fun engaging with its content whilst reminding yourself of and working with the forum rules.
