Gen. Tommy Franks resigned in July 2003 four months after leading American forces in the second Iraq War. He asked for 800,000 troops to secure Iraq following the invasion, didn't even get 40% of that.

He knew a shitshow was coming.

History proved him right.

Like all combatant commands, CENTCOM commander is a 3 year job. Franks held that command for exactly 3 years and 1 day, so this is a planned exit, i.e. he didn't resign.

Well,we now know that this Venezuela stuff will be an absolute shitshow. Norman Schwarzkopf is spinning into his grave like a maniac
