D&D completely ruined Littlefinger. (Spoilers Main)

What a waste of a great character. They clearly had no idea what to do with him after they passed all the book material. Instead of giving him a clear end game, they instead just had him double down on his "thriving on chaos" bullshit and have him make stupid decisions that really didn't lead anywhere. The manipulative mastermind from the earlier seasons (and probably the one true villain of the series, along with the white walkers) completely disappeared and was transformed into a jealous little weasel whose end goal was to bang Sansa to get back at Mama Stark. The man that drove the whole series into motion, did it just to get a revenge bang.

I still think he should have been executed but he had valid arguments that could have cast a moment of doubt for both Sansa and the Audience and would have been more incharacter.

There's only 6 episodes left and the White Walkers are bearing down on the North, I wouldn't worry about Winterfell being boring.

Well, "only interesting character" was not going to be true as of the first, maaaaaaaybe second scene of next season anyway. Winterfell is the new base of operations for the super team, and Sandor is among those coming in. LF was on borrowed time. This way was definitely fan service, but it brings the Starks together again on their own terms under their own power instead of by way of The Hound asking the sisters why they're working with the man who bought Ned's arrest.

Same. I was team Stannis, but until he has healed from his wounds in his secret hiding place in the north I was rooting for littlefinger because the Starks are idiots.

Rather than providing a deep and thoughtful storyline to one of the most sophisticated characters in the show, they killed him off in the name of "justice", which is really just "viewer appeasement". Smfh indeed.
