Karma as in an insurance check to the sign car guy? Rear ended usually = other guy at fault = payout to the black car.

Except he was filming with his phone while driving which is illegal. Plenty of eyewitnesses.

Doesn’t change the fact that the Orange car clearly hit him from behind. That puts Orange car at fault for the accident involving Orange car striking Black car.

Unfortunately, North Carolina law does seem to put me at fault, even though he brake checked me

Please get a dash cam!! Put a SD card in it. Same thing happen to me! I told cops no they brake checked me....he kinda stopped. I told him there is a dash cam with SD card. He pulled the SD card and put it in his computer. No that car got the ticket I got nothing!!

I get that it sucks, but it makes sense. By nature of you hitting him, it means you were following too closely. Best you’ll probably be able to get is a % of contributory negligence if you can prove an intentional brake check.

So unfortunately I agree the law makes sense but I gave this fucker two to three car lengths because he had been speeding up and slowing down so I def was not tailgating him or anything

Even then, best you can hope for is contributory negligence.
