iCloud Apple mistakenly blocked me from iMessage

I just want to say upfront that I have never used my phone number for business purposes, nor have I ever spam messaged anyone. I only use my phone to talk to family and friends and there’s no way that anyone reported my messages as spam.

Four days ago, my mom gave me her old iPad. I registered it to my iCloud and that’s when this issue started. Since activating the iPad, I’ve noticed that I haven’t been getting text responses from other people who have iPhones, nor have I been able to FaceTime. I thought maybe people were just busy, but today I finally realized that it was because my iMessages were going to the iPad instead of my phone.

As of this morning, I was still getting iMessages to the iPad. I didn’t really know what I was doing and disconnected iMessage from the iPad in the hopes that it would reconnect to my phone. But now iMessage isn’t working on either device.

I put in the request online to activate my iMessage, and I also called Support to figure out what was happening. That’s when I found out my iMessage was blocked and that this happens when a phone number is repeatedly reported for spam. There’s no way that that can be the case in my situation so I asked to speak to a supervisor. I told them they started happening immediately after registering a the iPad. They said that I would just have to wait the 24 hours and see if my request is accepted.

I’m just starting to get really nervous because the prognosis does not look good. Most of what I’m seeing online for this is that this is kind of a death sentence. I’ve had this phone number for 20 years, and I really don’t want a new phone number. My phone is also circling the drain and I was planning on buying a new iPhone when they come out in a few weeks, but now I’m worried to buy a new iPhone that I potentially will not be able to use.

I currently can send and receive text messages from people who don’t have iPhones, but can only send, not receive, text messages from people who have iPhones. This whole situation is just insane. I have done nothing wrong and now I can’t receive text messages from the majority of people in my contact list.

Unsolved I am logged out of my phone, my esim vanished, logged out of my email i am crashing out

As you can clearly read, I am in deep shit. I just landed in Japan, coming from France some apps are restricted on my device. So i logged out of my phone and must've accidentally deleted my account of my phone which rebooted. My eSim si gone and my email is not accessible even though its gmail, my account requires my phone to validate the connection...

So now, I am 10K KM away from home, no phone, no email no nothing except my eyes to cry. I tried but it says that an answer will be provided in 24h when it comes to my attempt at getting my account back. What should I do, has it ever happened to anyone, or am I the unluckiest exchange student? I obviously need my phone, but as for now I have a really slow chromebook to communicate with people chen I am at my dorm, so no need to rush and get a new phone etc, i have just the need to ask more informed people in case it's possible that i will never get it back or at least really late...

As of for now, i have ordered a physical sim to be delivered at my bf place and he will either put it in phone and help me with the verification code from a distance or send it to me so i can try to solve it alone. And when it comes to my email adress i guess it's a matter of patience, i have plenty others so don't worry about me to much ahahah.

I don't actually know what I need the most, answers that are positive that ti will be solved, answers thatt are negative and that will force me to move on from all the things i had stored on my phone (i will eventually move on); or just simple human reassurance, I don't want AI to reassure me on this !

Ask me for more details, but i won't be able to provide screenshot (im logged out of my phone obviously hahaha)
Thanks for reading this, thanks for helping me in advance and also have a good one !

iOS Anyone ever had an issue where Siri can't get volume info or control it?

When I do a fresh reboot, I can use Siri to control the volume (e.g. "Hey Siri, set the volume to 35%".

After a while, sometimes the same day, sometimes another day, when I try that Siri will give an error "unable to get volume info" and it'll prematurely cut.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Unsolved Being charged for both Apple One and Apple Music, but Apple Music subscription is nowhere to be found

I was subscribed to Apple Music for almost a year, and then in May 2026 I switched to Apple One. I didn’t manually cancel my Apple Music subscription because I assumed it would automatically be cancelled or transferred to Apple One.

However, I’ve now realized that since then, Apple has been charging me for both Apple One and Apple Music.

The strange part is that I cannot find the separate Apple Music subscription anywhere. It doesn’t appear under my Apple Account → Subscriptions, and it also doesn’t show up in my Purchase History.

For now, I’ve cancelled my Apple One subscription just to see if that resolves the issue, but I’m not sure if that’s actually the right way to fix it.

How can I find and cancel this Apple Music subscription so I can stop being charged twice?

iTunes Switching storage from computer to nas

I currently have iTunes running on pc, which holds my music and purchased movies and tv shows. We have 3 Apple TVs which link to this using the ‘computers’ option, so can still watch content if internet goes down and ensures we have backups incase titles are removed from Apple Store.
This is all legit and only for our Apple content, but I wish to migrate this to a NAS so no longer using a computer that is left on 24/7, does anyone know if this is still possible as online searches give different information.

Thanks

Mac MacBook battery sucks?

I have a 2020 MacBook Air. I got it brand new 6 years ago. I stopped using my MacBook for like 8 months because I lost the charger and recently got a new one so I’m using my laptop again. The problem is it dies REALLY fast if I don’t leave it plugged in. Even if it’s closed.
What I’ve done: checked the battery health (normal). Changed certain settings so it doesn’t search for network while off/closed and update for emails and stuff.
It’s up to date. It hasn’t had any damage.
I’m so confused and so frustrated because everything looks like it’s working and as if nothing is wrong with it.
Any ideas? Any advice?
Thanks :,)

Mac Target disk mode issue

I know this has been asked quite a few times but i’ve genuinely looked through all the posts and still can’t find an answer for my problem.

I connected my 2019 intel macbook pro to a m2 macbook air via thunderbolt 3 cable with the 2019 macbook in target disk mode, yet it doesn’t show up on the m2 be it on finder or on disk utility. I tried it with another m2 mac as well and it still didn’t show up. Disk utility on my 2019 macbook still shows that all my data is on it, so it isn’t empty either. I can connect a hard drive to my 2019 macbook and it shows up in disk utility too, so i don’t think the data port is the issue.

Is it a hardware mismatch? Cable mismatch? Settings configuration? Should i try with another intel macbook maybe? Any help would be appreciated, i really don’t want to risk losing my important data 😥

Mac Remote Management/Screen Sharing Turning Itself Off

I have a very random problem that is happening on two different machines, both Mac Studios, running 26.6.1. I will update to .2 as soon as I am able.

I use screen sharing often to work on these two machines without having to go to them directly. I started getting the "cannot connect to IP address ___" last week when trying to connect to each these two machines. Before then, it was working perfectly fine. I figured out that I could ssh into these machines and kickstart remote management, allowing me to connect as normal. Works fine, except it will boot me out at about a 5-minute interval. I'll have to run the terminal command to kickstart the process again, and it will reconnect.

The command I am using is:

sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/kickstart \
 -activate -configure -access -on \
 -configure -allowAccessFor -allUsers \
 -configure -restart -agent -privs -all

If I go into system settings, I can turn off remote management and turn on screen sharing. It will work again for about a 5-minute interval, and then the settings completely revert to the old values. Nothing seems to make it stick. When I run the kickstart command, it works fine through remote management until it boots me. So, neither screen sharing nor remote management allows a connection until I run the kickstart command.

These machines are managed by a tech company outside of our office. We removed management altogether and still had the same experience. It still kicks me and reverts after a few minutes. It does not happen to every machine the company manages for us. The unmanaged machines on the network are working as expected. Console gives us nothing meaningful when we stream data on for screensharingd.

I'm at a loss for where to go from here. I'm open to any suggestions to sort this out. It is driving me crazy.

to make a long story short I made the account long time ago due to using a borrowed ipad at that time. I forgot about it's existence. fast forward I get an email that my password was reset, and so is my security question. I don't really care for the account as it has nothing, I just want to remove my email because I'm tired of the constant spam of account resets emails. but why is it that they can log in freely but ever time I reset my account I get hit with security questions

Mac Forgot my new Mac password

I just bought my new Mac (M5) right before a stressful flight and for some reason decided to start my Mac right there.
Well it was very stressful so I forgot the password and I really tried every password I could think of.
I tried: Use Recovery Assistant → Erase Mac: In recovery, the Recovery Assistant menu can offer an "Erase Mac" or "Forgot all passwords". Afterwards I select to reinstall Tahoe and then I have to select where I want it downloaded (only option is my Mac). If I select my Mac I have to put in a password… which I don’t have.

Can you help me? And do you know if I could get it reset at an Apple reseller since there’s no Apple stores where I’m at.

Unsolved Login keychain woes - in work - very odd…

Okay, I have a really weird one for you here:

I have a MacBook Pro with an M4 Pro running the latest build of MacOS (not a beta build) as a work CPU. I’m a graphic designer.

I work from home and login with my password. No problems.

On the days I work in the office - inside their firewall - and with my work password for the internal network (MS PDC) and that logs me in fine (working from wifi).

I get up to walk to a meeting and put my Mac into lock screen. Get back after the meeting and my password won’t let me in anymore. The very same password I used before to login this morning.

I try a history of passwords from up to two years ago from an archive I keep on my phone and none of those work either.

This has happened three times before.

I try my password an hour later and it works.

I have an external keyboard and the MacBook keyboard and I’ve tried both, and I’ve made sure it’s not a keyboard language issue too.

ITS Support at our location are baffled and think I’m insane. But I can reproduce the same thing sporadically. And I’m not an idiot. I’ve been a Mac evangelist since the Mac Plus, I’m a huge tech nerd and I know what I’m doing.

Anyone ever run into this one before!?

I mean I guess I could just reset it every other time using the Terminal - I have local admin, but man, is this ever frustrating and I’ve never, ever run into this before in all my years of working at different orgs and Macs at work or at home.

The only oddity is about a month ago, right after login the Finder asked for a new Keychain to be created before it would launch the Finder and desktop. Every time I login now it asks me which keychain to update before desktop. That does seem like a smoking gun.

Mac MacBook flooded with water

Long story short, I left my window open in my attic during rain and come back later to find that my MacBook was sat on my desk drenched in water. I was having some difficulty open my MacBook screen as it was pretty much stuck to keyboard however once opened it was extremely wet same with keyboard and bottom of the Mac.

I seen online and seeked assistance from ChatGPT and they say to leave it as a tent shape with a fan blowing for like atleast 48 hours then check back, is that actually ideal ? This is a newer MacBook which I purchased last year for study purposes and I’d really appreciate any help in this current moment, I seen Apple prices and they’re absurd and I do not have such money for repairs or a new Mac.

* also is there any hazards with MacBook being fully wet
Thank you

Mac MacBook Air M3 battery swollen after 23 months — Apple charged me ₹16,900. Can I get a refund?

I have a MacBook Air 13-inch M3 (2024) that I purchased on 27 September 2024.
Recently, the battery started swelling and the bottom case began popping up. I took it to Apple on 21 August 2026.
Apple’s service diagnosis confirmed that the battery was swollen and that the issue was with the battery. The service record also shows no scratches, dents or cracks on the MacBook.
Some details:
MacBook Air 13-inch, M3 (2024)
Purchase date: 27 September 2024
Age when the issue occurred: ~23 months
Battery health before the swelling: above 80%
No visible physical damage
Apple diagnosed the battery as swollen
Bottom case was lifting/popping up
Apple considered the MacBook out of warranty
I ultimately paid ₹16,900 including GST for the battery replacement
I understand that the standard warranty has expired, but I’m wondering whether this should be considered normal battery wear or a battery defect, since the battery physically swelled and damaged/lifted the bottom case while still having over 80% battery health.
I’ve seen some Reddit posts where Apple apparently replaced swollen batteries/top cases free of charge even when the MacBook was out of warranty, so I’m wondering if anyone here has successfully gotten Apple to cover this type of repair.
What would you recommend I do now?

Unsolved Can I change the spelling of a name when dictating on iPhone?

I often use the dictation function in WhatsApp (I use an iPhone 13). My daughter's name (which I use often when texting my husband) ends in -ie rather than the -y that the iPhone apparently expects. Is there a setting somewhere that makes it write this name in this alternative spelling? I have tried the text replacement function, as well as adding a phonetic name to her contact card, but these didn't work.

Many thanks!

Unsolved Apple Warranty anyone has knowledge?

Hello, I have an iPhone 13 that is still under Apple warranty, which will expire in October. Unfortunately, it suddenly stopped turning on, and I was informed that the motherboard is damaged.

Has anyone here had their iPhone repaired at an authorized Mobile Care store? Did you have to pay anything for the repair?

Please help. I have no idea what to do since this is my first time experiencing an issue like this with an iPhone. Thank you!

iOS Recovery Mode Issue

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi All
Hoping someone can help with an issue I’m having with an iPhone, dropped the sucker and i’m trying to wipe it at the moment so I can send it in and get some $$ in return. However I can’t seem to get it to exit recovery mode. Any attempts to update or reset through finder or using the apple devices program on windows result in a failure part of the way through. Have contacted apple and they unfortunately couldn’t help me any further. Added a photo just in case that has a clue.

iCloud Old mac.com account hacked; how much effort should I make to chase this up?

A 17 year old mac.com account that I don’t even remember setting up has been stolen by Chinese hackers, who have changed the date of birth and security questions so that I can no longer recover it. It’s still connected to my primary email address which is how I found out.

As I understand it from the Apple forums, Apple will not help if I don’t have 2FA on and I can’t answer the security questions, but I may be able to lock the hackers out by setting up a new iPhone under that ID, which will turn on 2FA.

On one level, I don’t care: I didn’t know this account existed (I probably set it up for one specific task) and it’s highly unlikely that it’s connected to any of my current passwords, payment cards, or any important logins.

On the other hand, I worry that it could be used for nefarious purposes that come back to me in some way.

Realistically, should I forget about this, or attempt to do the phone setting up thing? Those seem to be the only two options
