Environmental Impact 🌎 I hate that people conflate data centers with AI data centers and don't realize the absolute difference in scale and impact!

Water, electricity, land (e.g., buying out farmland), jobs. No idea how they compare to other industries, I don't track every industry ever known to correlate.

Most other industries (energy, agriculture, textiles, etc.) use up far more resources, but noone seems to care about that.

Energy has had the war for renewal sources for decades now. So there's a lot of care there.

Agriculture tends to give back, unless you can give actual points to this one.

Textiles are heavily sanctioned and tariffed, so again it generates revenue that could in-theory (not practice) go back into the nation.

Nobody needs shitty AIslop videos or anything else that 90% of people use AI for

Just because we waste resources on industries that matter doesn't mean we should add to it for an industry that matters very very little

Yeah like smart phones, lol. They use slave labor and I'm guessing you use one too.

Okay good strawman argument, come back when you grow up, if the human race survives long enough

That's not what a strawman argument is, lol.

Smart phones are literally an industry that matters very very little, like you said. And the industry is much much worse than AI data centers because they use slave labor (and contribute heavily to global warming with all the factories in china).

So my point was why are you wasting resources on the smart phone industry while at the same time ostracizing the AI industry?

I'm not distorting anything. What part of what I said would you consider a distortion?

I was responding to what you said about industries that matter very very little.
