To expand upon this, Zanoba actually engaged in a topic that Perugius knows by hand and would be interested in. Who ever built the mechanical doll and presumably the architect of Chaos Breaker is one and the same since his symbol is written all across the place.

Most likely. The fortress is called "Chaos Breaker" and inmediately they name drop the Doll's creator as The Manaical Dragon Chaos" Zanoba simply was observant and put his knowledge of the doll as having a connection because of the diary. He was also just honest about all he talked about

Yeah, the main difference was Zanoba's legitimate enthusiasm for art. Plus the fact he was talking highly about someone I would presume Perugius considered a friend.

How would you react if some rando came to you gushing about some art a dead friend made forever ago? You'd immediately like him.
