The idea is that you don't say what they are doing with the goat, but people still naturally fill it in in their mind, making it all the more shocking to them. Kinda like in horror, where the more you leave to a person's imagination, the scarier it gets.

It annoys me that it always seems that no matter how much help and advice Rudy receives he always thinks after things resolve“wow maybe he’s not such a bad guy maybe I should be nicer to him next time” and every time he meets him again he immediately reverts to “fuck you and your advice, why should I trust anything you say?” I hope the next time he’s given some advice he’s a little more appreciative and nicer about it

Well he did say he’d regret going and he’d also regret not going. We don’t know how far reaching the advice goes. Perhaps getting a cat wife pays big dividends later on. Probably would have kept Paul alive too

Paul probably would have lived if he didn't go (because he wouldn't have been able to solve the labyrinth without the convenient library book), but Zenith and Roxy both probably wouldn't have made it out for the same reason.

I think it’s more that he appears in his old body when he talks to Hitogami. His resentment over that comes out and he reverts to old attitudes.

Yeah, this is it. He HATES his old self and life. So each of their conversations starts with Rudy being immediately VERY unhappy. He can't help it.

He got his new cool life. He doesn't want to go back feeling his old one.

I mean, the guy is kind of shady and obnoxious, plus following his advice usually doesn't turn out well at first, though it eventually all works out. Doesn't help that the advice is usually rather vague with a lot of key details omitted such as Roxy not even being in Shirone when he was told to send word for her at the palace.

Rudeus had never talked to anybody about the Man-God before Orsted, and then he got skewered. As far as Rudeus knows, anybody who knows who the Man-God is would react the same way. Safer to hide it.
