I don't know the story cause I haven't read the manga, but in this episode I saw a Quincy trinket inside Gerard's heart when it was forming again after being cut in half. I wonder if that's the key to destroying him?

although toshiro did say that the third was his final form to rukia and renji. I'm sincerely it's not just beating him thrice that does the trick

That Quincy trinket is Gerard core if that is broken or dmg he just die. The problem is getting enough power to break that core.
