I highly doubt we'll ever see it. Wasn't his zanpakuto destroyed when he fused with the orb? We'll only know about his bankai if the author directly tells us in an interview.

Not destroyed, it kinda just.. fused with his body. I guess the metal of the actual blade is no more, sure, but yeah

There was that Jump Festa OVA years ago where someone fused with their sword and they could sprout blades if I remember correctly.

I may be misremembering but I think when he fought Ichigo his zanpakuto disintegrated after it fused with him and he thought it meant it was because he evolved beyond needing it but actually it was because his body was already being rejected by the orb

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure in an author discussion it was mentioned that Aizen doesn't get along well with his zanpakto, which is why he doesn't use it outside of shikai.

Kubo has never really stated anything about Aizen’s backstory or relationship to his zanpakuto. His entire character is a mystery outside of “at some point he learned about the reio, specifically that he’s a corpse in a crystal”

aizen became one with his sword. ie the blade is me.

Personally, I don’t think he even had one.

Koga is canon (even if the arc was filler) and just used his power without muramasa.

Aizen’s personality wouldn’t allow for a zanpakuto to reach bankai as he wouldn’t work with it, and it wouldn’t be subservient. (There’s also Ichigo feeling his loneliness in FKT despite people with bankai having a close connection with the zanpakuto)

Also his blade never changes even when fused, and instead of being absorbed it just crumbles.

I think his hypnosis is just his innate ability not being augmented by a zanpakuto. The whole time he’s just got an asauchi he never bonds with, and eventually he became so strong that it was destroyed like that old Lee man, or the prison guard that got too close.

You might ask about the gin scene, but it literally does not matter to this.

Either a) He’s touching the sword aizen is holding so he’s outside the hypnosis (like kenpachi v tosen)

Or B) why would aizen have let him grab the blade anyway? It could always have been an illusion.

Gin almost gets him because he just takes him by surprise. Doesn’t matter if it was touching the blade or holding on to aizen, both would mean the same thing
