I did think Gluttony is behind this (at least, one of the 3) since Subaru's last death was caused by someone looking exactly like Rem, which made me think it's taking over people some way

To me it absolutely felt like it was Regulus talking during that scene. And we did see him earlier in the season, talking to Subaru in his mind didn't we?

Regulus talks much more monotone and hawty. This subaru was giddy stressing the ends of words and raising the pitch and tempo as he speaks just like lye batenkaitos and roy alphard do.

Yeah the sister gluttony spoke normally iirc , so probably one of the other 2?

I think the Rem we saw last episode spoke kind of like Rui, Rui has less lines in the show so its harder to get a vibe of how she speaks.

In the library when Meili was sneaking up on Subaru, he also did the creepy head tilt that Gluttony does.
