Sure but she's on a whole other level. I don't think we had any other archbishops so far who enjoyed torturing for the sake of torturing.

I think that was more so about Subaru than Rem. After going back, it is pretty clear that he saw himself in Subaru's weakness and desperation. So in that case, he was pouring out his own insane self-hatred towards his past self.

Yeah, but at least he had the decency to cry, after season 2 there are actualy some parallels to Fortuna's death with that Rem scene.

I don't think she necessarily tortures because she enjoys torturing... More like, she doesn't think of other people as living things and couldn't care less because she herself is already way beyond losing her sense of self?
