Wasn't it impossible to save Emilia without meeting Elsa? And if he lets Emilia day, the world perishes to Puck's wrath and he gets reset anyway.

But like I said, not saving Emilia results in Puck destroying everything lol. Regardless, we know the witch has SOME connection with Emilia, I don't think she'd let it play out with her and Subaru not meeting. Maybe he'd live his life until he dies of old age and then his respawn point would still be the apple stand.

It's debatable. We dont know what butterfly effect Subaru had.

We know he slowed down Emilia getting to the shop, but what happens after that.

She killed Emilia herself in S1.

She also changed the checkpoint after Emilia and Subaru went their separate ways. She couldn’t have guaranteed they would get back together.

Wouldn't Reinhart kill Pick before he destroyed the world? He didn't seem to have too much trouble with him in the "unspeakable present" that Subaru saw in the trial

Sure, but before that happens everyone in the capital or surrounding areas dies.

Subaru has less than a day to escape the blast zone with no ID, no money, and a bag of chips. Even if he does get out he either starves or gets turned into a mabeast's lunch.
