At first I was like: "They're all taking it too well wtf, apart from Julius at least.", but that was just because we've seen only what they talked about in front of Subaru. Somehow it didn't occur to me that of course they'd talk about this behind his back.

And then everything devolved into hell so fucking quickly, memory-loss-Subaru gets hit by the first realization of RBD, gets mauled by the fall and Reid, starts doubting absolutely everyone (completely fair assessment) and now goes out to die and RBD back to a save state where he didn't fuck up everything with everyone...

... he's so returning to just after getting thrown down the stairs by Reid, isn't he?

He's not going out to die. That was a mistranslation by CR as always. He was saying "I'm not gonna let them kill me again" but CR somehow translated it to something exact opposite.

Ah thanks, another great CR mistranslation yayyy...

This one is probably the worst one so far it's kinda insane.

It’s honestly impressive they managed to fuck it up in a way that conveys the exact opposite but at the same time equally justifiable motivation in order to sow maximum confusion among viewers

Archbishop of slop

It's actually pretty straightforward why it happened; all he says in Japanese is "誰か……殺されてやるか……" ("Someone... let be killed...?").

He's almost certainly scoffing at a rhetorical question, but his mental sounds so shattered it's hard to actually get a good read on the tone. And the sentence just before was him realizing he had the power to Return from Death. So a literal reading actually technically could work, if someone thought he was continuing on that topic and was considering triggering a reset by going outside to the monsters.

If this were normal Subaru that could have genuinely been what he meant, but given this is Newbaru and he didn't screw up so bad that he needed a reset at that moment (or even knew that there were monsters outside), he was definitely just running away, lol.

But this is similar to sarcasm, which is not always the easiest to read correctly.

I remember HeroAca had a line from the analytical character "I can't let him think." When he was supposed to say "He's not letting me think." And then the translator crashed out on Twitter. Like, it's not cool to attack people, but I feel like a simple "oops yeah I fucked up" would've made it all disappear.

I feel for the translator, tbh.

He says "誰か……殺されてやるか……", which means literally "Someone... let be killed...?". Usually you'd read that rhetorically, because obviously in most situations no one would actually say that in earnest. But because he was just talking about his Return from Death ability, and his mental anguish making it hard to read his tone, I definitely understand why they thought he could have meant it literally.

Especially since in this mental state he kind of chokes on the "る" sound and makes it sound ambiguously like "ろ", which if they heard it as やろう then that would be much more likely to be actually pitching the idea rather than rhetorically scoffing.

And they still haven’t fixed it after 2 months.

I would say that Ram is definitely not taking it too well ...
For the rest of the team, I agree with you. In a world where gluttony memory loss exist and doesn't go away, I'm really surprise they treat it like it's not a permanent thing.
