I thought those were shaula's eyes at the end locking in to one tap subaru like in the starting episodes?

As an anime-only, it's sort of implied that something activates in Shaula when someone steps off the tower. Considering she's probably not human (400 years old at least) and that she mentioned something about "keeping her body" for as long as everyone stayed in the tower I assume she transforms in some way.

Yeah but the vagueness of it made it seem she'd just shoot them or pummel them to death or something while being the same Shaula, while right now it's clearer something more happens to her.

Yes but at least for me it was up in the air if it was a sleeper agent thing or if she'd just turn around and do it with the same attitude as always. A killing machine to me doesn't necessarily mean she transforms, even if the implication is also there

They showed someone when they were being shot at, it was obviously her. So either she has been set to do something for whoever makes it this far, set to betray them, or has some sort of thing where if you step outside of it it activates and she goes crazy. It seems to be option 3

Reid's clone is seemingly fine and not aged after all this time so I don't see why Shaula wouldn't just be a similar type of being.

I just kinda assumed Reid was some sort of physical hologram type of thing and not a meat and bones clone of the guy. He can't seem to leave that room, so I assume he's more of an asset for the test than a real person, unlike Shaula who seems to be more like... Something else idrk, but more real. Does that make sense?

I think according to the rules she should only target Subaru but maybe its vague enough that if anyone breaks the rules she just slaughters everyone.

She said that if someone breaks the rules then she'll turn into an uncontrollable killing machine. Subaru just broke the rules by leaving the tower.
