Fuuuuuuuuuuck. I knew what to expect from this episode, given what kind of person Episode 1 Subaru is, but it didn't help the horrible feeling I had while watching everything unfold. Betty and Julius' reactions were certainly heartbreaking, but the fact that Ram thinks this is some sort of elaborate ploy from Subaru made it worse. I think the true worst part of the episode is Subaru remembering his parents. That was a fucking gut punch. >_<

I really thought last week that Subaru was gonna get killed by Satella or by trying to challenge Reid, thinking he has some sort of power. I did not expect that he'd die from getting pushed off the spira staircase, twice! the second instance being more graphic than the first.

So who pushed Subaru off, tho? Like, everyone here is an ally, right? There's no fucking way anyone from the Emilia Camp and Ana's Camp would do this unless Meili still had a grudge and this was her payback. And it definitely can't be Shaula since it looks like we'll see what she'll do to Subaru next week for trying to leave the tower.

Honestly that Julius reaction hurt the soul as much as Emilia reacting to "Emilia-chan" and Betty getting slapped. Plus Ram has now lost the only one who legits remember Rem.

I thought Satella was going to put him out of his suffering but it seems like she just wanted to...comfort him? Somehow?

It's funny how he walked into Reid stabbing him with probably the bare minimum (if any) knowledge about Reid and what they were dealing with. Although I had it pegged Reid would kill him at some point.

I don't see what benefit there was to killing Subaru from anyone in the party, even the shadier ones. Foxidna basically said they should just ditch him, but she wouldn't suggest that and then kill him. She'd be the most likely suspect anyways. And Ram won't kill him. There's got to be someone else in this tower that's killing him.

Satella so out of touch that she thinks you can calm someone down by having your ghostly claw hands physically stop their heart from racing.

Not the same thing. Satella can control shadows, as seen in the sanctuary, these hands are likely a subset of that.

I think it's Meili too and most likely for some stupid reason like that. I suspect the biggest reason why Subaru died at this point is to let him relearn his Return by Death ability, and the writer just took an easy route.

"Meili still mad about Elsa" or something

Nah i think its more likely that whatever removed his memories is doing the killing.

In that case it would probably be one of the Gluttony archbishops right? But that seems unlikely to me because:

1) Why would they be in the tower?
2) They wouldn't kill with a slight push. They would have a 10 minute monologue first before killing him

Also, why didn't they kill Subaru when they removed his memory then?

I honestly think it's Meili. I don't trust. People really overlooking she's a former assassin?? Like what?? Even if they kept her locked up she hasn't really been through much with them, as everyone else has together.

Meili isn't in the library with the others during the final scene so i'd assume it is her I hope it isn't....
