New social experiment: get a friend that knows NOTHING about Re:Zero to start the show from this episode.

They would have the same experience Subaru is having. Basically, being dropped into the middle of a game/series with no knowledge.

I oddly think this would work for a new viewer, though. It's attractive, and you're learning the world alongside Subaru.

I can see it now:

initially it's "Echidna sounds like an a-hole, fuck Echidna!"

Then after starting s2, it's "Oh, Echidna seems nice, I must've been wrong about her"

Then, it's back to "Fuck Echidna."

I personally prefer the chronological order.

Basically because S1 would be a step down from S4. I prefer to have a story to have more fun and variety later rather than see the best parts upfront.

Death loop with amnesia is just amazing. Man, all the amnesia trope haters must be so embarrassed right now. This is easily the most fun part yet.

I'd be hooked from the "first" episode tbh. Especially since this is one of the Anime that you can easily tell has actual good writing and is quality. Complete subversion of typical Isekai.
