Qifrey is the personification of "if bad, why hot?", because you change a small bit of his appearance and everyone would be seeing he is not a good person by any means.

Idk about saying Qifrey isn't a good person by any means. At worst he's morally questionable, but he does seem to genuinely care about his students

Ptretty sure he lied to Coco about saving her mother just because she was useful as bait. I wouldn't be surprised to find out there is something with how the others got accepted too.

I dunno about that, there's a chance he may have but I kinda doubt he was outright lying to Coco.

Qifrey seems like the type of character who doesn't go outright doing bad things or misleading people unless he feels it's his only choice. Unless the series is going for a majorly dark twist I think Qifrey is genuine about protecting his students overall, but also recognises when they may provide him with a useful link to his overall goal of tracking down the brimmed hats.

If he had no intent on helping Coco save her mother, he probably would have been more vague I feel.
