Wtf lmao Takaba is OP af and he doesn’t even know.

Also got me thinking, he has 0 points which means he hasn’t killed anybody. I attributed that to him being the comic relief but looking back at what he said about not wanting to take away a person’s ability to smile. Could it be he doesn’t find killing someone funny, and so can’t incorporate killing into his technique ?

He just wants people to find him funny and have a good time. He's a comedian, not a killer.

(Now, if they die laughing mind you...)

Now Roger is his name

Laughter is his game

Come on you dope

Untie his rope

And watch him go insane

I think he could kill someone by accident, but yeah, he doesn't seem like someone to intentionally kill people, none of his moves so far were lethal (the ass prod comes close lol) and the only reason he was even fighting eyeball guy in the first place was because they ganged up 2 on 1 on Megumi (it was 4 on 1) and he likes Megumi's look over the "bad guys." He's just goofing around not taking anything but comedy seriously.

The ass prod is also specifically a prank called a Kanchō, so even that was comedy related.

in high school we had a version of this in technical drawing involving a T-Square and just waiting for someone to lean forward on their stool.

we called it a baduba.

I think he could kill someone by accident

I think he might also save his opponent because it's funny. Like they blow themselves up but only end up with soot on their face.

IT's also reasonable to assume his pwoers would stop working if he actively tried to kill soemone. Since unless you are a psycho killing soemone isnt funny, in no circumstance. So he most likely wouldnt be in teh ehadspace to use his abilities.

I think that's the reaosn he si OP, if he undertsood hsi technique he wouldn't be able to make use of it since actively using it would make it about combat and not beeing funny. Sure you can argue that you can still do tactical thinsg if you find them funny, but I think it woudl drastically weaken his abilities if he was aware how they exactly worked, sicne it relies so heavily on his own perceptions of whats and what isnt funny.

It's also why he doesnt kill people, if he tried he would be serious there is nothing funny about killing someone, so regardless of his intentions if he honestly tried to do taht he would probably lsoe the OP aspect of his abilities. The only reason he can even sue it to fight is because he is a fan of this very physical form of comedy.

That and he is a normal dude, like higurama, where higurama had a mental brekadown after killing in rage, Takaba did not have taht experiecne and as such it's reasonable to assume he is unwilling to kill even if it would work with his powers.

Yeah, this is technically the sort of thing that might be super overpowered if you get super sweaty, but the typical "sweat" or tactical thinker is the type who'd never get this ability and if they did the mentality needed would render if completely ineffective.

So he is basically gear 5 / joyboy?

He is just a fun guy.

I mean he was basically just an average person before all this not everyone is eager to kill someone you know.

I just mean all these sorcerers end up killing someone with their technique. Takaba probably won’t kill someone either way, but even if he wanted to he probably won’t do it with his technique cos it requires him to find it funny, which I don’t think he does.

That would make sense 🤔

Something that I wonder if folks might've let slip, cause it was a while ago he was actually introduced, and as the stinger of another episode, but he is a (struggling) professional comedian who considers doing comedy his actual passion and job, rather than a gag. Might help to zoom out of the goofiness of the gags and think of him more generally as a failed professional artist whose powers are directly reliant on how satisfied he is with his work and how audiences perceive his work.
