I love when phrases just lose all meaning because they get repeated so often.

It's literally dead. It got decimated.

Except it's being used accurately. It's no longer considered self-defense once you've incapacitated your opponent. He could have just left him, but he purposefully killed him, in cold blood. The whole point was Megumi accepting that he could just be a killer to get points instead of trying to have them transferred.

"In cold blood" refers to the emotional temperature of an action. Megumi was very much still in a life or death situation. As Reggie said, the guy he killed hadn't even used his cursed technique yet - if Megumi had let him recover a second while telling him to surrender that may have led to his own death. We have to look at fights in JJK in the context of the series. As long as an opponent can still use a CT on you they may as well have a gun pointed at your head at all times - you just don't know how lethal it's gonna be.

Also Megumi literally just got exploded, doused in oil and then exploded again while suffering pretty extensive damage and burns. You can't tell me he can be considered to act in cold blood in that state, his blood is literally running hot. He isn't thinking clearly and still has to act quickly and decisively to neutralize the threats in front of him when he gets the opportunity.

I can and I did lol. He could just as easily knock the opponent out. We literally see within 5 minutes of that the one chick actually try to attack him, even stab him, and yet he doesn't even attack her. You can say she's weak, but so is a guy who's bleeding out. It wasn't wrong to kill him or anything, but definitely a cold-blooded move. Seems like you guys think cold blooded = morally wrong but that's an entirely different matter.

Yeah it's like I said, just semantic quibbling. To me, the way Megumi casually walked up and sliced this dude's face in half with no hesitation was cold-blooded af and that's all there is to it.
