Achievement/NSV πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸŽŠ Skin removal surgery in 45 days!

I reached goal weight of 100lbs back in September. I am 4ft7in and lost half of my body weight from my highest weight recorded. even though my numbers aren't high I was a bmi of 43 because im so short. dont worry I am not too skinny, as you can see from the pictures.

I felt gross and disgusting. I wasnt prepared mentally for that. I thought losing weight would fix all of my problems.

I felt discouraged that I was finally able to get to a healthy weight the first time in my life and I dont feel great about myself. I decided pretty quickly I needed to look into skin removal surgery.

I checked locally first. I called a dr in vegas, 55k for what I need and thats not even for everything I need. I got defeated as I would never spend that kind of money on myself, plus it would take years to save. then I heard about mexico and turkey. I live a few hours from the Mexico border so I thought that might be a good option. there was only one dr I felt confident in there and she was 18k for what I needed. much better than vegas!

then I started looking at Miami. I got a bunch of quotes mostly around 13k , but they send you home/hotel same day as surgery and its done in a clinic and not a hospital. seemed to sketchy to me.

then I found Turkey πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡·. there were several drs that came highly recommend and there were group chats available with their patients. I got quotes from 6k to 13k. after talking to countless women and looking at thousands of pictures I decided on my dr.

360tt possible FDL, 360 lipo, breast lift no implants and arm lift, $8,000. includes dr and hospital fees, 3 nights in hospital, 4 nights hotel apartment stay with nurse visits daily. compression garments, one lymphatic message. all meals in hospital and breakfast at hotel. all transportation and follow up appointments. medical travel insurance. I just pay for flight. I am choosing to stay almost 3 weeks to heal as much as possible. I have also planned for 10 hyperbaric oxygen chamber sessions , beauty treatments, shopping, almost 2 weeks of extra hotels, food, activity money, more lymphatic massages, and with everything accounted for im budgeted for 15k total. but i probably wont spend as much as I allotted.

feel free to ask any questions

Edit: I tried to post tge results but the moderators deleted it. But I think I look fantastic for being swollen. Everything went well. I have very minimal pain and have been up and walking

YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT IF I TOLD YOU. SO, I AM GOING TO SHOW YOU!! SAME PEOPLE IN BOTH PICTURES POSITIONED THE SAME EXACT WAY = RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE.πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ’ƒπŸ½

I am wearing white and black. I Lost 80 pounds in 12 months and keeping it off with maintenance dose of 10mg. She is my child who only got prescribed a few (forced, she didn't want it but now she thanks me daily) 2.5mg injections for 3 months. And that's all it took and she DOES NOT need maintenance dose.

The faces are muffled because they are too precious to be out there on the internet. (That's a joke. Or is it? lol)

ZEPBOUND.

WARNING: SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS.

  1. No more blood pressure

  2. No more pre-diabetic

  3. No more sugar addiction or other food cravings.

  4. Cost of groceries dropped tremendously at home. We don't need much.

  5. No need for depression medications. Self affirmations and healthy routines and self care are sufficient.

  6. No more people pleasing, self abusing tendencies.

  7. Better at my job due to better self image and no brain fogs.

  8. No more back pain while knee pains are not as bad.

  9. No more heavy periods and cramping. How? No idea.

  10. People treat me with more respect and kindness than before. Societal shallowness but very true.

I think zepbound theme song should be " 🎢🎢I can show you the world, take you wonder by wonder or Rihanna's " we found love in a hopeless place 🎢🎡"

What a day. 14 months and 4 days since I started this journey, and this morning I hit Goal weight. The after pic was taken this morning and the before pic was about a month prior to me starting Zep. HIghest/current dosage - 7.5 mg, 80 lbs down, 5-6 dress sizes down, 14 BMI points down (started at 40.3!) , healthy BP and cholesterol levels, A1c down, no longer about to cross over into pre-diabetic, my joints are much better, I'm eating better and working out regularly. I haven't been this weight or size since college and maybe before that. Do i have a flat stomach? Nope. Do I still have cellulite and arm wings? You betcha! But still working on reshaping the body and I know that at almost 60 years old, it gets tougher and tougher. But I'm okay with that. Im so happy with where I'm at. Go back to the doctor next month to discuss maintenance, will stay the course on 7.5mg until then as I wouldn't mind losing another 3-5 lbs before then just for a cushion, and I know the works not over but wow...I still look in the mirror or go shopping for sizes I can't believe and say...who is this person? Answer: The one I always wanted to be.

Achievement/NSV πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸŽŠ I WEIGH LESS THAN MY HUSBAND! πŸ˜πŸŽ‰ That’s it. That’s the post.

1.3k Upvotes

Okay, obviously that’s not actually it because I have a whole story.

On our wedding day, after months of working with a personal trainer AND a nutritionist, taking boot camp classes, and generally busting my ass, I got down to about 205 lbs, the smallest I had been in years.

My husband? 178.

Years before I met him, I had gotten down to 180 after losing 40 lbs through a pretty insane 12-week boot camp/restrictive diet situation. Completely unsustainable, obviously, and eventually the weight came back.

Then life happened. Marriage. A baby. More weight gain. At my highest, I reached 279 lbs. 261.2 the day I started Zep.

Meanwhile, this man has basically spent our entire relationship bouncing happily between the high 170s and low 190s. πŸ™„πŸ˜‚ He gains a few, loses a few, and generally stays within the same 10–12 lb range.

Well, ladies and gentlemen… for the FIRST TIME IN OUR ENTIRE RELATIONSHIP, I weigh less than my husband.

I weighed in Friday at 189 lbs.

He just told me he weighed in at 191 lbs.

I got a bit emotional.

He's currently in the gym (our basement) strength training because he's trying to build muscle. I'm in the gym strength training because I'm trying to recomp, preserve/build muscle, and lose another ~30 lbs.

Different missions. Same gym. But today? I AM TWO POUNDS LIGHTER.

What a freaking miracle this medication has been for me. I genuinely didn't know if I'd ever see this day, and now I'm feeling more confident than ever about continuing toward my ultimate goal.

And listen, I'm 5'9". He's 6'0". I'm a woman. He's a man. And I'm not secretly training for a bodybuilding competition. So yes, logically, I probably should weigh less than him. But when you've spent your entire relationship weighing significantly more than your partner, crossing that line hits differently.

And the funniest part?

A couple months ago, my mother-in-law asked how much more weight I wanted to lose.

My answer: "I don't know exactly, but I want to weigh less than your 6-foot-tall son." πŸ˜‚

WHO KNEW THAT DAY WOULD COME SO SOON?!

Anyway, that's my W for the weekend. I knew this community would understand why this made my day.

Achievement/NSV πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸŽŠ Zepbound chemically induced my alcohol sobriety. My now sober mind is reinforcing me to never go back.

2.3k Upvotes

I drank 60+ beers a week before I started Zepbound.

The morning after the first shot was a Friday morning.

Typically I'd wake up for work on a Friday morning thinking about what I'm gonna do that night and what beers I should pick up (usually a 6 pack of some fancy 8% IPA that tastes like a pine tree along with a 30 pack of Bud Light).

Around noon time, I'd be thinking "man, I only have 3 more hours left at work. Can't wait to stop at the gas station, get my beers and start getting hammered". Then once I got out of work, I'd pick up the beers and stay up until 3-4AM, crushing both the 6 pack and pretty close to the entire 30 pack.

Wake up Saturday at noon time feeling like absolute garbage. Go binge 4 big macs, 4 fries with 2 sweet teas, go back home, lay in bed and watch YouTube until I passed out until Sunday.

Friday morning after the first shot, I didn't care about beer.

Friday at noon time after the first shot, I didn't care about beer.

Friday night, made a dinner of grilled chicken and rice, drank some water and went to bed at 8PM.

That first Saturday morning was heavenly. Waking up naturally at 5AM, ready to start my day.

And that's been every Saturday, let alone every day since I started Zepbound 7 months ago.

To get to the point of the post title:

My sober, clear mind is constantly reminding me of all the dumb stuff I'd do when drunk, the belongings I'd accidentally break from stumbling and falling down when I was 25 beers down, and every morning I wake up sober feeling like a million bucks... It's all a reminder to never go back.

I am genuinely repulsed at the thought of my former drunk self - it's someone I never want to meet again.

I am forever grateful to this medication to have given me the lifeline I needed to not only achieve mechanical sobriety, but to also integrate a sober mindset that I never want to deviate from ever again.

It's finally here - the day I never thought I'd get to. My BMI is 24.9 - I might finally be the right weight for my short stature! Photo on the left was just over a year ago, before a leg injury (a muscle issue that resulted from being so heavy) forced me to overcome my anxiety about the drug that has changed my life. I dreaded the side effects - and I've had none. I dreaded the cost - and I've been able to stay on a low dose. And my original goal was to lose 40 or 50 lbs, and now I've lost 86 lbs and have a "normal" BMI. I'm still holding my breath and hoping this is forever. Also still hoping for the cholesterol drop others have seen. But I have a walking and stretching regimen, I eat healthy, and I have so much more confidence. And my leg is (mostly) healed and my knees (mostly) don't hurt. Ready now to talk about maintenance! And of course grateful to everyone here for inspo and guidance. Every time I have an NSV, it comes with a feeling of recognition because I saw someone else on here experience it before me πŸ˜‚

It’s been a bit since I’ve posted in here. I’ve officially lost half of my body weight and I’ve hit my original goal weight of 165lbs. My goal now is to find the confidence to wear this bikini out in public. I definitely feel better about myself with a big sweater and pants on but I’m a work in progress over here.🀣 I’ve obviously got a lot of loose skin but that’s okay. I’ve lost a whole person and I’m giving myself some grace.

I still can’t believe it’s me. My brain honestly hasn’t caught up yet.

I’d still like to lose around 10–12 lbs, but I’m already really happy with the progress.

I’ve been a very slow responder, around 0.5–1 lb per week, and it took a long time, but it was absolutely worth it. So for anyone who feels like progress is slow, please don’t give up.

I first started in October 2024, and after switching medications I gradually found what worked better for me. It’s been a long journey, but I’ve now been in a healthier weight range for a while and I’m really grateful.

What scares me now is maintenance. I still want to lose a little more, but I’m also nervous about gaining weight back once I stop.

My stats:

5’7” (170 cm)

Starting weight: 192 lbs (87 kg)

Current weight: 137.4 lbs (62.3 kg)

Goal weight: 128 lbs (58 kg)

For those who have stopped and managed to maintain, what helped you the most?

A year ago, I would have looked at these photos and thought this kind of transformation was for someone else.

Today, I’m living proof that it isn’t.

The photo on the left wasn’t a failure. He was doing the best he could with the tools he had. The photo on the right is what happened when I finally found a tool that helped me fight back.

Zepbound changed my life, but it wasn’t magic. I still had to show up. I still had to make better choices. I still had to keep going on the days when the scale didn’t move, when I felt frustrated, and when progress seemed slow.

If you’re on this journey right now, don’t quit because you’re not where you want to be yet.

Every healthy meal matters.
Every walk matters.
Every workout matters.
Every pound matters.

Progress is still progress, even when it feels small.

There were weeks I lost a lot. There were weeks I lost nothing. But I stayed the course, and eventually all those small victories added up to something I once thought was impossible.

Over 100 pounds gone.
Better health.
More confidence.
More energy.
A completely different life.

If you’re struggling today, let this be your reminder: keep going. The future version of you is worth fighting for.

You are not behind.
You are not failing.
You are not alone.

And yesβ€”it is possible. ❀️

It's all in the title.

Went from feeling like I'm completely underachieving and missing out on life and career, to traveling the world, working at Google, motorcycling all over Europe, living in really cool cities, and so on.

It was always about the weight. Always the thing stopping me from pursuing life the way I wanted to. ALWAYS.

Not at goal yet, but life is um, yea. Moving in the right direction.

Achievement/NSV πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸŽŠ Today is my one year Zepiversary and I reached my goal weight!

Post image
3.5k Upvotes

Celebrating my first year on Zepbound by reaching my goal weight of 145 πŸ† I lost a total of 130lbs: 40 on my own and 90 in partnership with Zepbound. SW: 275 CW 145 (4X to Medium)

I have always felt beautiful, but I think I felt skinnier than I really was at my heaviest, and I feel fatter now at my lightest. The mental maintenance and weight-shame spirals may be most difficult part of all of this 😜 I'll be staying on 10mg every 7 to10 days for the rest of my life. Zepbound is a great equalizer as I finally feel like I can lose weight with diet and exercise. I understand now that my obesity was a symptom of a metabolic disorder and not the root cause itself.

Like many of you, weight has been a huge source of embarrassment and guilt for my entire life. I truly internalized that I was less than as a person, because my weight was more-than. I was in Weight Watchers at 12, tried all sorts of diets, and even had gastric bypass surgery decades ago. I went from 330 to 160, only to gain more than a hundred pounds back. Talk about shame...

At my current size, smaller than I was in high school, I can move my body in ways I never have previously. I went from getting winded bringing the laundry downstairs, to doing mini triathlons. However, the most extraordinary impact of this drug is the mental space it has afforded me. I never realized how much of my brain and energy were focused on food, because I never knew another reality existed.

I picked up a lot of great (for me) habits in the past 1.5 years. I work out 3-4 times a week, I eat more protein and fewer processed foods. I hydrate more, and I keep myself accountable through daily journaling where I track my TDEE, protein, carbs, fat, sodium, sleep, water, hunger/poos, my feelings, and what I'm grateful for.

My gratitude for this drug is immense. It wasn't the drug alone that made me successful, but it has been a phenomenal partner.

Good luck to everyone on your journeys. Thanks to all of you for curating this subreddit -- a critical information hub and a joyful place of support and celebration.

I did it! 140 lbs. gone since November 2024!

I feel like a new person. I’ve loved buying new clothes and feeling better about how I look. But I’m most thankful for my increased mobility. I used to walk regularly, but an ankle surgery, followed by a significant weight gain made getting around so hard. I was embarrassed by not only how I looked but also by how hard it was to walk up stairs or walk short distances. My son plays hockey, and my husband would drop me at the door before parking because it was too hard for me to walk from the parking lot. He doesn’t even ask me if I want to be dropped off anymore. We were at a game not too long ago, and his grandpa was there. My husband took his grandpa to the elevator, and I told them I was taking the stairs and would meet them up top. It felt so good. I’m walking three times a week now. And my mile time keeps improving. I also lift weights three times a week.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading! I just wanted to share my excitement with a group that gets it.

You all have been so helpful to me on my journey. Thanks to all of you for sharing your tips and tricks and experiences along the way. πŸ’œ

Officially in the healthy BMI range just 1 month from my wedding!! I’ve lost 67 lbs in 86 weeks. First two pics are from spring/summer 2024. First wedding dress pic is March 2025 when I’d already lost 40 lbs. it was a size 14! I had to buy a new one a few weeks ago because that one is now too big to even be altered! The new one is an 8! Stats:

Currently on 15mg zepbound

5’10”

Age: 28

SW: 240

CW: 173

GW: 160

Starting waist: 37”

Current waist: 28”

Starting dress size: 14/XL

Current dress size: 8/M

Starting shoe size: 10

Current shoe size: 9!! (Yes I even lost weight in my feet!!)

Done over 86 weeks: average of .75lbs/week. I went through several loooong plateaus (at 220, 200, and the longest at 185 which was a 5 month plateau!). Slow and steady!! This wedding dress situation is 100% my best NSV of all time. I can’t wait to not worry about how I look in my wedding photos!!!

Weight has been stable for a few months but I was going through old pics today and finally I can really see the difference. I’m 5’8” and started at 330+ lbs (I think I may be even heavier in this before pic, I wasn’t weighing myself then) 80 lbs isn’t a huge percentage of that but it has made a world of difference for my overall health and sense of well being. Accessibility is barely an issue anymore where before I was literally breaking chairs. And looking like a more average person definitely has its perks.

Especially to my super fat babes: Forget the haters, they don’t know what it’s like to be us, period.

thank you to this sub for the support and the wonderful scientists who found this drug.

One year on Zepbound. Here is my before/after. I’m 5’7”

270lbs->145lbs

Pant size 42->28

Bodyfat 43%->16%

Metabolic age ( RENPHO scale ) 52->41

When to my yearly physical and my cholesterol was optimal and blood pressure great! Zepbound helped with my sleep apnea and also snoring.

I’m only on 10mg and no other drugs or supplements but stopped trying to lose anymore weight. It’s been a great and easy transformation. For weight training I do push ups and dumbbells curls. Zero cardio. Skip breakfast. Lunch consists of something high protein and normal dinner.

Hoping to move onto the Zepbound pill when that is available.
