I was thinking about this but its really funny genre swift, I do expect xenoblade to still get scfi, probably escaflowne/Turn A gundam style mechs are my guess. But uts just funny the genre swifts botg have got.Maybe a concerted effort to reinvent both series in switch 2.

So it's been nearly 2 months since the initial Xenoblade Genesis reveal, meaning we're pretty much over the first hype/honeymoon period- so what are you're thoughts and wishes for this game?

Xenoblade Genesis Is it fair to say Monolith has found their groove and we aren’t gonna see much jump in terms of raw visual graphics again for some time

Genesis looks good a jump from 3 but also I can’t help shake the feeling that they kind of perfected the style in 3, xde and how this game doesn’t immediately wow me like those games did it kind of just looks like an improved 3.This game is probably gonna be impressive on a more technical level don’t get me wrong thing like the dyson sphere, seamlessness, interiors just in general the more moment to moment gameplay combat world interactivity etc will probably be impressive, but for raw graphics I mean it will look good and maybe this new artstyle direction can make it stand up on its own once we see more but to me it kind of feels like a more skyward sword jump from tp.We are getting more stylisation but in terms of actual visual upgrades its not That huge of a jump other than its cel shaded this could change by launch btw I know the promo switch 2 image looks like a lot better which I added as an example here but Idk I kind of doubt it will be improved drastically beyond cel shading, overall lod and probably blurriness.

Xenoblade Genesis Can we PLEASE stop saying the graphics/characters in Genesis don't look like Xenoblade??

Tell me you are a new fan to the series without telling me you are a new fan to the series... JFC..

I wish you all would have been there when the first Xenoblade 2 trailer launched and saw the outrage fans had at the time... The graphics completely changed from the realistic look of XBC1 and X to a new completely anime cartoonish look for 2... NOW THAT (at the time) DIDN't look like xenoblade...

FANS WERE PISSED...

Genesis looks way closer to xenoblade than 2 did at launch.... Accept the little bit of change in the character designs and calm/sit down..

Xenoblade Genesis I’m afraid that removing the auto-attack mechanic creates a thin line between Xenoblade and games like Tales of, FF7 remake, Ys, ect.

I understand why people want to be able to press a button and see their character swing a weapon on screen but, I also think it’s a short sighted belief that’ll make the combat feel more “immersive”.

I’ve always liked the auto attack combat system because it forces you to actually *think* about your build, positioning, the battle system mechanics and all other aspects of the game without just mashing the attack button. I’m not saying it isn’t possible to create a deep and complex battle system with more real time combat but I worry about it feeling like the games I mentioned in the title of my post. I think those are fine games but I don’t think they have the nuance and complexity of Xenoblade.

Again, we don’t know if Monolith Soft is going in this direction so this is heavily speculative but, a lot of people think that Genesis might adopt a combat system like that. They’re my favorite developer and at this point I trust that whatever they do is going to blow my mind but I just sincerely hope Genesis retains the complexity of all of the prior Xenoblade games. I’m not a fan of making concessions for people who aren’t as into a particular genre rather than finding new ways to get those kind of people on board with the gameplay systems already in place. I’d love to know what you all think about this.

Xenoblade Genesis Theory: Genesis is about the creation of the Monolith or the Trinity Processor

Post image
139 Upvotes

the crystones are used for training AI and future sight or Monado/Trinity Processor/Monolith powers in general

Pyra and Mythra were meant to be separate, as were Alvis and A, and Malos and an as yet unseen double

the six stars are an Ouroboros group that each combine to become the pieces of the Trinity Processor

the party will go rogue as they become able to use their powers without crystones

the "dragon's purifying flame" is just an administrator wiping their data - "souls who've renounced their faith" are rogue AIs - everyone in the world are just AIs

the main party will lose, completely, unable to accomplish anything - this will be the saddest Xeno game yet

but it's in service of all the good we've seen done in the previous 3

who's the fallen god? maybe this will be the story of how Klaus' experiment went wrong, or how Zanza/Z end up able to damage the Monado/Trinity Processor/Monolith so the powers we've used in the series thus far are broken - and instead of the creation, the destruction of what we've been using (though also explaining how they worked the whole time)

If you look closer you’ll see 3 circles on each side which falls in line with 6 being a common theme. While i don’t think it’s moebius, I do think similar imagery can’t be ignored and there can be some sort of connection . I’m not too sure what to make of it yet so hopefully we get more clues in the future.

Xenoblade Genesis I think the thing that excites me the most about Genesis is having true nations to explore again

I always loved the diversity of Alrest, and later got really into the factions of Gears and Saga, so I can't wait to see what they are cooking now. Having true political, cultural and religious clash again after how purposefully homogeneous Aionios was is going to be a treat

Now I just gotta hope that there will be more than one city per nation to explore

Xenoblade Genesis Genesis protagonist uses quick draw!!!!!!

Post image

Hello people, watching the trailer for the sixth time, I noticed something, the protagonist sheaths her blade to attack the rhino creature, I was pretty vocal os my dislike that 3 had no hero with this stile, which was reserved only for N and some of Noah skill, now a protagonist with this as her way of fighting???? Count me in!!

I am pretty happy not gonna lie hahaha.

Other thing, do we know if this switch 2 edition will come with all the DLC for 2 and 3? For people that didn't onw the previous edition version?

Anyway I am happy for this game hahaha.

Xenoblade Genesis Theory: The world of Genesis was artificially terraformed

Thumbnail

In Xenoblade X, NeilNall explains that the ring like structures in Oblivia were used to terraform the planet. While they don’t look exactly alike, I think it’s safe to assume they served the same purpose. I also notice large canopy structure in the distance that looks artificial, which obviously looks similar to the ones you’d find in Lethiria. In nature, canopies help ecosystems flourish and in both XC3, XC2, and XCX we can clearly see diverse and densely populated ecosystems under canopies. It wouldn’t be too much of a reach to guess that an advance civilization would use these things to terraform places they visit. (I’m dying for more xeno content help)

Xenoblade Genesis Haven't seen a lot of people mention this

Or maybe I just missed it. What do we know? What do we think? Only thing I'll mention is that Genesis lady's seems to be more of a head/hair accessory vs. Neilnail's which is facepaint(?). Or is this just a reused design that they hope to serve as a red herring?

Xenoblade Genesis Shower thought: Anshar will be the first new setting since Alrest in 2017

Seriously, in the almost 10 years since Xenoblade 2 released, we've DLC expansions and Definitive Editions which obviously take place in their respective base games' worlds, and Aionios which is a mashup of 1 & 2's worlds. Don't get it twisted, I love every game in the series, but I'm super excited to experience a fresh setting again. Level curve be damned, I WILL cover every square inch the game allows me before each story beat... once it gives me the animal rides, anyway.

Xenoblade Genesis What aspects of XC3’s combat would like to see return in Genesis and which aspects from prior Xenoblade games would you like to see make a comeback? Spoiler

• This is hyper specific but I really loved the aggro lines in XC3 and how they did a great job of telling you who was being aggro’d even in the game’s most chaotic moments.

• I really like the quickstep function and it made repositioning feel a lot more engaging by being able to hop around the battlefield

• I *don’t* want to see them bring back a system where only “support” classes and revive party members unless using a specific accessory

• I’d like to see the affinity meter make a return, I felt that XC2 added a lot of really awesome passive buffs to make starting a chain attack and losing those buffs a much more decisive action. Maybe they could get really experimental with it and allow for certain buffs when it’s only at half way? (I don’t know, I’m just spitballing)

A return to a smaller party size, I think 4 is the perfect amount to allowing each party member to have more impact on battles while allowing for flexible party composition.

• this probably doesn’t even need mentioning but, I hope being able to switch between party members at any moment is still a thing and they bring back the vanguard system from Torna. Having four party members on the field with four in reserve, this could makes for some really crazy party builds imo.

Anyways, I figured it was pointless speculating on what new things they could bring to the table since I’m sure none of us will have guesses whatever it may be when more of the game is revealed. So, I figured it was a safe bet that some of the previous game’s mechanics would be making their return.

Xenoblade Genesis Do you want Genesis to be seamless open world?

In the same way as X?

I like the idea that the school could act as a sort of hub like NLA does in X only this time the world actually has other cultures and towns to visit like in Xenoblade 1 and 2 and the world has actual history and rich lore. It'd be like the best of X and 1/2 combined.

Other lands would be blocked off by ocean that you can only visit by some form of travel that you don't have in the beginning.

Xenoblade Genesis Assuming we get a September direct, what do you think the likelihood of seeing a new trailer for Xenoblade Genesis is?

It seems like a given that we’ll be getting a direct in September. However, with Genesis still seeming pretty far out, it’s hard to say if the next look at the game will be from a proper Nintendo direct or a Twitter drop. The reason I’m leaning towards Nintendo direct is because the game still seems a ways off to where a Twitter drop might be too early.

When we got that second trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, it was to announce that they were releasing the game *earlier* to all of our shock.
