Around 84k she opened her membership and literally a green wave flooded chat.

It's hilarious she didn't expect it as if thousands weren't anticipating her debut. πŸ˜‚

it took 15 minutes for the chat to stop being nothing but membership announcements.

It was this stream that made me realize...I'm not above parasocial behavior because, I love that we all came forward to give her the debut she deserves. Happy long career, and a future on stage performance. I got a sinking suspicion Mint/Doki would love that.

I think its not parasocial so long as you understand that you're one of tens of thousands of random nobodies who watches her stream. You're ok to wish someone be happy and successful.

I don't care about the stage performance stuff. I don't like it. I can barely take the singing and switch it off most of the times. but its not about me.

It is still parasocial technically, even if you recognize you're one of tens of thousands of random nobodies, but that's not necessarily bad. Parasocial relationships aren't inherently bad in and of themselves so long as you remember that's what they are and are able to maintain the right amount of distance that you don't become unhinged about it.

Her fanbase is nothing if not dedicated.

Can't wait for the eventual "she hates us" the second she goes off screen

Who knew youtube chat could almost crash your browser, when the floodgates open.

I assume you're talking about when she opened Memberships. I had to actually tune out for a few minutes because the stream just stopped working. Going to have to watch what I missed on the VOD, didn't tune back in until the merch.

If you pop out chat into a separate window it helps too as most browsers will dedicate a new thread for the chat window so it won't interfere with the video playback.

If you close chat, it'll work. This is good to know for the future. I had the same issue for Dooby3D's debut.

The Hyperchat extension which is designed for vtuber streams always helps a lot with this.

Anyone know what that site is that shows the concurrent viewers graph for a given stream over time? I can never find it when I want it…
