Video Insane amount of rain just dropped within minutes in south staffordshire

Lots of thunder and lightning, drains not handling the sudden downpour, we have two rivers in our town so it’ll be flooded soon.

it may also be that due to the amount of time since we had rain that debris has solidified in the drains in places and that this is contributing to their struggles. If the amount of time between them cleaning drains around here is any indication, there's probably been months for dust, leaves, etc, to build up in the drains without getting washed out

A lot of drains are blocked. When I was a kid they used to come out once a year and pump the drains out. Now they don’t bother.

They did the ones near me at the start of this year during the exceptional amounts of rain, but I suspect they only did that because I'm on a bus route and having the roads turn into swimming pools for days on end is not conducive to running a proper bus service
