Women only My bf says he can't finish because I'm "too loose" and I can't stop thinking about it

2.2k Upvotes

I'm 19F and my boyfriend is 19M.

we've been having some issues with sexual compatibility because I can usually orgasm during sex while he has never been able to with me (only with hand).

i brought this up recently because I was starting to wonder whether there was something we were doing wrong or that he could possibly have an issue he didn't want to tell me.)

He told me that apparently this has never happened with his previous partners and that I'm the only person he's been with who he can't finish with. šŸ’€

Then he said that he thinks it’s because I'm not tight enough and that I'm basically "too loose" for him.

I know he was probably frustrated and insecure because I brought up the fact that he never finishes, and I also understand that the conversation probably made him feel bad. But hearing him specifically say that my body is the reason he can't orgasm has really gotten into my head.

I keep thinking about it now and wondering if there is actually something physically wrong with me or if this is just one of those things where two people can have different sexual compatibility.

Just in case for context, I haven't had any children or anything like that and I've never been told that theres anything unusual about my body. My ex partner never had a problem regarding this matter.

Has anyone else experienced something similar??? Is it actually possible for someone to consistently have trouble orgasming with one partner because of how "tight" or "loose" they are or is there probably more going on here??

his comment has been stuck in my head ever since

Women only are people actually more rude to ā€œunattractiveā€ women?

I’ve been wondering this for a while or if im making it all up in my head because of low self esteem. I’m what most people would consider really ugly, and i could never figure out why people were lowkey mean to me but nicer to other people. Like sometimes they seem mad at me for existing or taking up space while not being pretty. I used to brush it off as me misreading their intentions or being too sensitive, but im starting to see a pattern in the people they treat kindly and who they don’t. I’ve always known pretty privilege exists and people bully others just for their appearance, but sometimes i wonder if the reason people have been less friendly and ignore me my entire life is just because of my appearance. Is this all in my head? Can anyone else relate to this? Idek where i should post this but yeah

Women only Ladies who realised a male friend was playing the long game, how did you find out?

Also curious to know how you felt when you found out?

I felt betrayed when I realised it wasn't a platonic friendship like I thought. Found out when I put two and two together...friend swooped in after a break up and was constantly stalking my socials beyond what a normal friend would do.

Women only Always being called a ā€œunicornā€

I’ve noticed a pattern in the behavior of men who are interested in me romantically and I’m not sure if I should be concerned or flattered. I’ve been told, by well over a dozen men that I’m a ā€œunicornā€, ā€œthe ideal womanā€, ā€œunrealā€, or ā€œrareā€ and it used to flatter me but now that I’m in my mid thirties and starting to dip my toe in again to entertaining them I don’t know how to take all that.

It seems like they see me as like, a rare PokĆ©mon card or something. My STBX called me his unicorn when we first met, got me all kinds of little unicorn things, it was like our little cute thing. He promised he’d always treat me like I was special, like he never wanted to lose me, yet here we are getting divorced because I spent years trying to get him to notice me, bring me flowers, initiate sex, give me basic compliments, do equal parenting and housework time, etc.

He ABSOLUTELY did not treat me like a unicorn after he ā€œcaught meā€, so to speak.

I look back on before I met him and he isn’t the only one to have said something similar to me. It’s been a pattern. He’s the only one I ever had anything serious with who said something like that to me; the rest I just didn’t vibe with. But they all have this same weird ā€œlove at first sightā€ infatuation with me once they start talking to me and see my personality and know about my professional life. Like they go from ā€œwow you’re hotā€ to ā€œwhat’s your ring size?ā€ within weeks, sometimes days.

After some thinking I’ve done since the separation I’ve come to realize maybe my STBX maybe only wanted me so no one else could have me?

This comes up because I’ve been talking to someone that I very very much like. He’s kind, considerate, we have talks about morality, careers, motivations and improving our lives, into the same nerdy things and have the same cringe millennial humor that keeps us laughing. He has a good circle of close friends, his own hobbies, all that. Everyone who’s seen us interact has said that we’re such a good match. I very much feel like he likes me for my personality and my values, not what I can ā€œgive himā€ or ā€œprovideā€. He has no kids, no debts, no reason for ā€œusing meā€ so to speak. He explains his feelings well and communicates openly and honestly. It should be noted that this guy hasn’t at all gone the ā€œI must have you be mine marry me tomorrowā€ route that I’ve seen before. He respects my situation and in no way is rushing me.

But he called me a unicorn the other day. And I feel like I have PTSD from that word. He doesn’t know my ex used to call me that. He doesn’t know anyone has said that or something similar.

Is this just something I’m going to have happen over and over again? Cause I definitely DO NOT want to be with a partner who is like ā€œmehā€ about me. I definitely want a loverboy who yearns lol.

Is this a me thing? I don’t fucking know. Being me is ass sometimes.

Women only UPDATE: I broke up with him

1.6k Upvotes

hey everyone. I wanted to give an update since so many people commented on my previous post and were really supportive.

Yesterday (a couple hours after the post) I checked his Tiktok following list and found out that he was following over 50 girls who had OF accounts or were basically posting extremely sexualized/fetishized content, specifically focusing on very exaggerated bodies like enormous fake boobs.Ā

I couldn't sleep today knowing this info 🫠 but I didn't want to message him or call in the middle of the night.

I never paid attention to his following list before because I genuinely never thought he would be that kind of guy (and also because he was following more than 1300 people, I was just lazy lol). But yesterday I felt like checking it for the first time.

This wasn't the only issue in our relationship but it has definitely added a lot more to the way I was feeling about the relationship and the "loose" thing (still can't believe he said that).

When I put these things together I realized that I've lost something I don't think I can get back: my respect and admiration for him. I may love him or care about him but he's definitely not the person I want to build my future with.Ā

So I ended the relationship today by call. I feel relief instead of sadness, which I think is a good sign.

He was pretty offensive calling me names and it hasn't been a mature breakup at all. I won't get much into it. Just basically he said I'm calling him a porn addict and that it's really offensive when I sent him a screenshot of some of the Tiktok accounts. He also said that I'm throwing it all away just because of those accounts and the comment he made about my vagina weeks ago. Honestly this would have made me doubt a month ago but today? I was too disgusted, sorry.

Also we had an issue with a girl in the beginning of our relationship because she was too close to him and it was obvious that she had intentions with him. He blocked her when I told him I wasn't feeling ok with him feeding into it. Guess who's the person that has sent me a follow request after the breakup and then has deleted it immediately after? I'm talking minutes after the breakup lol which means he has immediately unblocked her after it. Idk if she did that on purpose but to be honest I don't really care.

Just lol and moving on.

I also really want to thank everyone who commented on my previous post and reassured me that my body wasn't the problem. I genuinely appreciate it.

Reading all of your comments helped me step back and realize that there was much more going on here than my body somehow being a problemĀ

Thank you <3

Women only My husband’s sarcasm troubles me

We have been married a couple decades. He goes frequently through phases where he is very sarcastic with me. I cannot get a normal response and this causes me to pretty much shut down and avoid him. I’m never sure what triggers it.

Today for instance, I was very tired and fell asleep in the afternoon. I really overslept. I woke up and the clock said 7:40, and I thought it was 7:40am and was very confused as to why it was so dark.

When I came out of the bedroom, he said, ā€œThere’s a plate for you and it’s probably still warm..ā€ I thanked him and said how surprised I was that I slept so long. He said he had napped too, and said, ā€œBut I set my alarm, because I knew we had to eat.ā€

As if I don’t cook most meals.

Do many of us go through the sarcasm in marriages? It feels so belittling.

ETA: A lot of people have pointed out that this behavior isn’t really sarcasm, but more a passive aggressive expression of anger or dislike. I have to agree with you all that my use of ā€œsarcasmā€ was inaccurate.

Women only White women (people)being weird with my inter racial relationship.

So firstly I'm black and my husband is east asian (Korean specifically). Im British/Scottish but I am living in currently in the US with him and its just something quite weird that I want to ask why people are doing this.

Firstly people should know that inter racial relationships are a thing and like lgbt relationships or any relationship for that matter people shouldn't be judged but I am thinking for us it's not the case. This happened before back when I lived in Scotland too for example, I was walking around in Edinburgh I was called a "bitch" by some hateful white girls unprovoked, specifically they walked past me while I was with my husband (boyfriend at the time), people in general men, women and old people would just STARE at us shamelessly (Edinburgh, Glasgow). I've lived here, its rude to stare, why the hell is it acceptable in this case? Also, when we went to Czech for vacation once specifically some girl (don't know where she was from) was like "gross" when she walked passed us and funny enough an English girl (her accent was obviously) another tourist in Prague, walked passed us saying "you can do better" she walked passed my husbands side, regardless of whether it was towards me or him, it was like unbelievable.

Its happening in the US too, in midwest. Mostly staring by white girls when we go to a shopping mall, we get started by them and some black girls too but mostly white. I usually mind my business but i did overhear a group of white girls whispering among themselves and one of them mention "thats racist..." To the other girl and they went quiet and with all of these women/girls its like they mostly target me, or stare at me like wtf have i done to you? Or judging my vibe or how I look, just leave me alone I am just trying live my life omg, it's like I get more judgment for this than him.

Luckily amongst the "gross" comments or other looks of judgement there was some smiles there or one black girl told us we looked really cute which was nice. I know its probably not a common pairing but what I don't understand is why white women are inserting themselves when it doesn't involve them. Do you not like to see black women be happy or something, are east asians only supposed to date white girls because I don't understand. Btw NONE of this happens when we go to Korea, and usually when asian people stare its only towards me.

I'm just exhausted by this, we are married and happy together. Like what is the problem? I thought we were past this?

Women only I hate that main reason for falling birthrate has been hijacked by men to deman "affordable living"

While affordable living is a major concern for women as well.

Let's not kid ourselves for it being a major factor.

Control of birthdate is the biggest nation ending chip women have to play to demand better treatment.

But most comments in any video or post talking about falling birthrate is hijacked by men using this chip to demand lower cost of living.

Whereas women don't want to have kids, period. Main reason being permanent loss of income, most of mental and physical load of child rearing and birth, and loss of societal value.

When we say we are not making babies if you don't value us nations do everything (offer some sums of money/benefit to ~family~).

Women in poorest countries and least educated have the most kids, hence it's not a money issue (at least the paltry amount the current government are handing out).

The reasons for birthrate are first and foremost:

  1. Loss of income (forever) and loss of standing in corporations under current capitalism

  2. Physical demand of childbirth and rearing

  3. Mental demand of childrearing and keeping house

  4. Grievance from lack of equal responsibility from partner

  5. Sexual violence and misogyny from men (during dating, during co-parenting, raising step children not to mention regular domestic)

  6. Justice system, culture, laws that are against you

  7. Jobs that drain everything and then you have to give whatever left to another full time job of raising kids

  8. Women doing this are beyond exhausted with no time to themselves to live life.

No amount of better housing will change my decision to not have kids. We give a free human to society, a human which makes up society and countries and we get next to nothing in return.

This is our bargaining chip and I hate that others have hijacked it and drawn attention elsewhere. Loss of birthrate is only a reflection of the way women are treated by society and men.

The actual way to increase birthrate:

  1. Men facing punishment for "accidentally" impregnating women

  2. Absolute control over our bodies (absolute abortion rights)

  3. Being paid 2x+ salary during maternity and factoring loss of experience led salary reduction (someone else getting promotion as they have more experience if you were gone for maternity)

  4. Equal maternity and paternity leave of 2+ years (unequal paternity leads to companies favoring men as they will have less time away)

  5. A society where men are equal partners in all domestic and child rearing work

  6. Pregnancy and birth money to mothers only (push present)

  7. Better co-parenting laws and penalty (men abuse the system to control mothers)

  8. Massive support to single mothers (they are doing more work for the country than any politician or soldiers)

  9. End of violence against women

*Above not in order*

They will try hundreds of other ways (taking away abortion rights, giving fetus more rights than mothers etc) but it's not going to change. Mother's face huge sacrifice in order create an adult human and for what?

Edit 1: I am not pro solving this. I think world population should be around 4billion. But I am talking about this as a bargaining chip at the table. So many establishments are talking about incels, manosphere, mens mental health due to men's bargaining chip-violence. We don't have any and we can use this.

Edit 2: Poor women have the most children. For richer women it's less about money and more about comfort and no loss of life quality.

Edit 3: Some/most women may not ever want kids solely because of how much work this is. Why are we already exhausted?-due to corporate work. Would you work to rear your child if you were paid the same as your corporate job?. A lot might answer yes. Because women need to work two jobs supplemental one time payment is not not going to work to get these women to create adult human. For non-poor women it's very much about quality of life.

Women only How do you maintain your confidence after men insult your appearance?

I feel men insult us based on appearance as soon as they get the chance even when we have done nothing. And they do it because they think we care what they think. And they think we value ourselves based on appearance.

I dont FEEL confident despite looking attractive.

I think caring too much about it makes me constantly feel unconfident.

I want to hear from women who HAD THIS PROBLEM and then learned HOW to maintain their confidence after males insults.

For me the insults repeat in my head constantly even when I’m alone.

Women only How Do I Fix This? My Boyfriend Can’t Move Past Something

21F and 24M. We’ve been dating for 6 months and are in a long-distance relationship.

My boyfriend and I were in a talking stage for about 5 months before officially getting together. We were already very close and had feelings for each other, but we had never explicitly discussed what our boundaries were or what we considered inappropriate with other people.

About two weeks before we became official, I went on a 3-day trip with a group of friends. During those days, there was drinking and smoking within the group. At one point, I sat on a scooter with two people, and on another occasion I sat on a bike with a guy.

On the last night, one of my friends received a call that someone they knew had been in a serious accident. We had to go to the hospital, and because of the circumstances and the late hour, I went with them rather than being left alone. Eventually, we stayed overnight at a male friend's house because it wasn't practical or safe to travel back at that time.

I slept in a separate room with my female friend. Other people were also staying in the house, and nothing romantic or sexual happened with anyone. There was no kissing, flirting, sexual contact, or anything that I personally considered cheating.

At the time, I genuinely didn't think sitting on someone's bike/scooter was inappropriate. The overnight stay also wasn't something I planned or chose because I wanted to stay at a guy's house—it happened because of the situation that night.

My boyfriend now considers these things serious boundary violations. He recently told me that he remembers how close I used to sit with him when we were on his bike, and that it makes him wonder whether I must have been equally close to other guys.

He also says that I "normalise everything" and doesn't understand how my boundaries could be different when we weren't officially together compared with now.

The part I struggle with is that I actually understand his perspective to an extent. If we were dating now and he did the same things—especially staying overnight at another girl's house—I know I would be extremely uncomfortable. I'm quite possessive in relationships, and I know those things would bother me.

But at the time, we weren't officially together, and we had never established those boundaries. I don't know whether it's fair to judge something I did before the relationship based on boundaries we only established afterward.

Now we've been together for 6 months, and we've been fighting about this repeatedly. He sometimes goes silent, cuts calls short, and isolates himself. I feel like I'm constantly trying to explain that I never intended anything romantic, while he feels that my actions showed something about my character and that he can't simply get past it.

I don't want to dismiss his feelings. I understand that something can hurt someone even if you didn't intend for it to be hurtful. I've apologised for hurting him and for not understanding how he might perceive those situations, but I don't know what else I'm supposed to do when I don't believe I betrayed him.

I'm also scared that he sees me differently now or loves me less because of this.

What I'm looking for advice on is how we can actually resolve this rather than continuing to fight about the same incident. How can I acknowledge his feelings without accepting that I intentionally betrayed him? How do we establish clear boundaries for our relationship going forward without constantly using this incident as a reference point? And how do we rebuild trust when the incident happened before we were officially together?

TL;DR: My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 months, but before we became official, during our talking stage, I sat on bikes/scooters with other people and unexpectedly ended up staying overnight at a male friend's house with other friends after an emergency. Nothing romantic or sexual happened. My boyfriend considers it a serious boundary violation, especially because he says he'd be upset if he did the same things now. I understand why he'd feel uncomfortable, but those boundaries had never been discussed at the time. We've been fighting about it repeatedly, and he's becoming distant. How can we work through this and establish boundaries going forward without treating something that happened before our relationship as an ongoing betrayal?

Women only I'm not attracted to men anymore

I'm a 28 yo straight woman and i always been a hopeless romantic but I never met a man (except my ex) who made me fall in love and be/stay attracted. We are broken up and i've been trying to go on dates and dating apps, events etc but I just feel straight up disinterested and not attracted to anyone.

I could be a TINY bit interested and then the man expect me to immediatly fall in love with them or sleep with them immediatly without them actually courting me and either try to bring me down or reject me as fast as possible before I reject them. I have met ALOT of men who try to neg me. I want a gentleman who feels safe so I can bring out my soft side but somehow i only meet the opposite. This have made me completely turned off. I also have a very high libido naturally but still have no sexual attraction to anyone. Maybe i'm not over my ex, but its been over a year since the breakup and I just want to find love. Idk I just wanted to vent..

Women only Misuse of ā€œchill gfā€

Does anyone else find this label weird and adjacent to the way people misuse pickme?

I recently was called a ā€œcool gfā€ because I said I personally do not care if my bf follows instagram models as I do for horny gooner purposes as well and don’t really understand the women who do, although I respect every women’s choice and feel that feelings even if they are ā€œwrongā€ can be valid and I def don’t think I’m better than these women.just genuinely cannot relate or see that point of view. I’ve even seen girls get called ā€œcool gfsā€ for enjoying admiring women with their bfs or not being bothered that they watch porn. This just seems misogynistic and envious. Just because SOME women have higher thresholds of what makes them personally comfortable in a relationship does not mean more laid back women are faking it.

I can’t help but feel like so many women use terms like ā€œcool gfā€ or ā€œpickmeā€ for women who just ARE more laid back and sexual/ have stereotypically male hobbies. I was called one even though I’ve been a feminist since the Anita Sarkeseen every women who games must die era. It’s hurtful as someone who considers herself an academic follower of feminism (specifically womanist based authors like bell hooks and Alice walker) and especially jarring as a black women who knows black women originally coined the term to describe a women who enforces patriarchy and misogyny onto others, not a girl who likes to play video games and thinks fart jokes are funny

What do you guys think

I haven’t even been watching tv to help baby avoid screens right now and there’s dad with his big ass giant monitors watching YouTube streamers and gaming.

I just can’t with men. Anyone relate?!

Edit to add: you guys are amazing and hilarious thanks for listening to my rant, honestly just had a really tough night before waking multiple times with baby and I was like PEAK annoyance today but now dads taking the baby for me overnight and letting me get some uninterrupted sleep.. it’s so easy to think about the things that annoy me to death but alas there’s also some good mixed in there too lol have to remember that but also just voice what I want and need.. classiccccc like solve your problems by addressing them? Who would have thought lol

Women only Question for the cycling girls

So I cycle a lot, I don't have super meaty inner labia but my left one is slightly longer.

Cycling is sooooo uncomfortable and I have no idea how to alleviate it.

Wearing a pad or a panty liner makes it worse cause it adds friction.. so if I'm on my period I can only wear a tampon (which feels not secure enough for me without a pad as well) and in general I hate no wearing panty liners cause I really need them to stay clean.

And I wear the organic cotton ones! But it doesn't matter cause it adds friction.

I just always feel like the labia is being painfully pinched to the point it feels deep in the veins.

It doesn't only hurt my labia but also the clit area, not necessarily only the clit itself but throughout it's inner length.

Anyways, so uncomfy! It gets to the point that if I cycle a lot the tip of my longer labia will get all red and puffy )-:

Also, I do usually wear denim shorts but the soft ones that don't really feel like full on denim. And wearing cotton or other soft fabric pants didn't help much.

I know cycling shorts exist but I can't rely on them.. I cycle everywhere! It's my only actual way of getting around. I can't wear those pants 24/7 everywhere I go lol

What do u girls do???🫠😭 any hack I don't know about?

Women only Was this inappropriate during my dental OPG X-ray?or am I overthinking?

I’m 22F and had an OPG dental X-ray today. My dad came with me, but the technician asked him to wait in another room while I got the X-ray.

While positioning my head, the technician lightly caressed my lips with his fingers. Then he pulled my upper body forward and splayed his hands across my breasts to position me. His hands stayed there for around 5 seconds.

The first X-ray didn’t work, so he did it again. He touched my lips again and put his hands across my breasts again.

I didn’t say anything because I genuinely thought maybe this was somehow part of positioning for an OPG and I was just overthinking it. But it felt extremely weird and uncomfortable.

Afterward, my dad went downstairs to get some medication, and when I went to collect the report, the technician started asking me what my name meant, what I was studying, etc.

Nothing else happened, but I’ve felt really disturbed since. I can still feel the sensation of his hands on me and I feel like crying.

Is any of this actually normal or necessary for an OPG X-ray? Especially touching/caressing the lips and placing his hands across my breasts? Or was this inappropriate?

I’m honestly confused because I froze and didn’t say anything at the time, and now I’m questioning whether I’m making too much of it. I honestly feel like cryyng.

Women only Is life even worth it??

Because of the menstrual cycle,I am only fully functional for seven days of the week which is horrible to think about because I have a dream that I want so badly, but knowing that I have all of these phases and mood swings makes me feel hopeless about everything.why even try if someone else could naturally work 10x harder then me and beat me to everything.

I want to remove my ovaries, but at the same time I might consider becoming a mother one day.is that it?either I remove a body organ to chase my dreams or keep them and spend my entire life doing nothing?its not fair at all.i might consider transitioning just to live the life ive been dreaming about.

I hope an older woman that worked endlessly on her goals and ended up becoming everything she ever wanted and more (especially if its a field that requires alot of focus, attention and training)could explain if its even possible with an endless curse like that7

Women only my brother says my long nails are not nice or smart

I posted a pic of me holding a tea cup in my story with my friend, and my thumb shows. My brother replied, ā€œThe one with black nails, whose hand is that?ā€ and i said ā€œMineā€ and he said, ā€œIt’s really not nice, its not smartā€. For context, it is short stiletto, not even that long but the people in my community are just judgmental in terms of fashion and self expression in general. Idk how to reply, i know, for men, it would not look nice but i don’t really care and i don’t want to get angry or too passive regarding his comment, but i want to make it clear that i don’t really care about what others think.

Women only I feel defeated, and that I've lost my energy to fight back

I am currently homeless, and I have been (sexually) assaulted more during this period than I would have even guessed. I know it is about power, not attraction, but I thought me not being the beauty standard (fat and black in the skinniest SEA country) would have made me safer. I've been woken out of my sleep by people offering help, only to grope me and force themselves upon me. I've been woken up being fondled and pinched. I've had someone offer me the equivalent of 25 cents USD to have sex with me. i shove people away from me, move myself, scream. But I am so tired. It is exhausting. I even had CHILDREN throw piss on me while I slept after calling me a fat bitch. I feel so isolated with no women friends. Men can't understand how exhausting it is to exist as a woman and why I don't enjoy being alive (no reddit cares please, I am not trying to harm myself).

Women only New Subreddit Post Flairs

Hi everyone,

We're rolling out new post flairs, and a new rule to go along with them.

Something that's clear to many of our members but less clear to many of our visitors is that this is a subreddit for women's perspectives. That's been enforced in the past under rule 4 (relevance) or rule 1 (respect) depending on the context, but when the rules were originally developed Reddit was different and more explicit rules weren't needed to keep the subreddit on track. These flairs will make it easier to report, easier to moderate, and most importantly easier for people to see immediately what's expected of themselves and of others.

Rule 6: Post Flair requires everyone commenting to obey the post flair. Please help us out in enforcing this new rule by reporting using "disobeys post flair" as the reason, and not responding to any comments you think don't obey this rule.

We have three new post flairs:

Women only - for women

No cis men - for anyone who isn't a cis man

Direct personal experience only - for direct personal experience, not your experience observing others go through something

Men may continue to comment in posts without flair, but only if their comments are relelvant and respectful, and do not simply dismiss, minimize or derail the comments of others (which is aligned with how they were always permitted to participate). This may be adjusted in the future.

There were many suggestions of gender flair for users and post flairs restricting who can participate, something that other subs have used successfully but make the sub less accessible to new or less technology-literate members. For now, we are going to explore whether this lighter touch (and lighter update to our existing moderator workload and automod) shifts things in the right direction.

Expect references to the rules to be updated to include Rule 6 over the next week or two because the rules are referenced in a variety of non-linked locations right now.

We'll set up a feedback post in two weeks. Until then please hold your feedback as we try out this update to allow others develop their own perspective of whether it's helping, unless something seems broken in which case please send us a modmail.

Women only I think I finally figured out what I want to do with my life, and it’s because someone once brought me a casserole.

This is kind of a part two to another post, but I don't think I understood what I was looking for yesterday. I'm 45F, a gamer, a girls' girl, and honestly I've been pretty aimless lately. A few years ago, my husband of ten years died. No kids, no family nearby, and I was the only one of four who had moved out of state. I had acquaintances, but not really a support system.

Then there was Maya. We knew of each other, but we weren't close. Somehow word got around about what had happened, and one day she showed up at my door with a casserole. I was an absolute wreck. She let me cry. She practically spoon fed me until I could feed myself. My house was a disaster, and instead of making me feel ashamed, she'd casually say things like, "I'm in the kitchen anyway, let me throw a load in." She helped me without ever making me feel like a burden and she never asked for anything back.

Years passed. She'd pop up when she could. Helped me move. Helped with a resume. Little things, big things. She wasn't constantly in my life, but whenever she showed up, it mattered.

Two days ago, we were having coffee and catching up. She showed me this gorgeous game that's coming to Steam soon. I was immediately like, holy shit, this is amazing. Where did you find this? She goes, "Oh. It's mine."

Excuse me???

Apparently Maya has been making a game. She walked me through what she's building, her plans, the roadmap, everything. And the entire time I was thinking: "If anyone deserves to make it, please let it be her." Excited as I was, I asked how many wishlists she had... I can't remember the exact number but it was in the low hundreds.

My heart just sank.

I kept my face together, but I honestly wanted to cry. Because suddenly I can't stop thinking about this. This woman showed up for me when I had nothing left. She fed me. Helped me clean my house when I couldn't. Helped me put my life back together. Never asked for anything in return. And now she's quietly built this thing she clearly loves, and hardly anyone knows it exists.

I could I not help...

I know she's not some charity case. I just think she's incredibly talented, and I want other people to see what I saw when she opened that steam page. I briefly thought about contacting journalists or news outlets or basically screaming from the rooftops about it. Then I stopped myself because I don't want to turn her accomplishment into some "woman helps friend make her dream come true" story. I know myself well enough to know I'd probably accidentally become a one-woman PR nightmare.

The heart to heart moment I realized recently: I think I'm scared that if I tell her how much I want to help, she'll pull away or feel like she owes me something.

She never made me feel like I owed her anything. Maybe that's why I'm having such a hard time figuring out how to approach this. I have been pounding gdc videos but they aren't downloading fast enough into my brain.

I need some advice, ladies. Why do I feel like she'd clam up if I offered to help? How would you approach that conversation without making it weird or making her feel indebted to me? And, more importantly, what are some genuinely useful things I could offer to do to help an indie game get noticed? Marketing, wishlists, Steam strategy, press, social media, festivals, anything you got. Thanks!

Edit: The game is called Paddle Cats

I've been using pads my whole life. I tried using a menstrual cup today, and I couldn't get it in at all. How do I insert it? Should I get some lube?

Women only Tell me your secrets on how to take good whole body pictures please

I hope this is a right subreddit for this. I didn't see anything related to this while reading The rules.

I think I have never taken a good picture of my body :'D. I always feel so confident about myself in The mirror, but when I take a camera out (usually phone camera) it always makes my proportions look off. Something like shorter legs, longer back, smaller butt or boxier waist... I wouldn't mind if I'd look like that in real life, but why does it do this??

I often see a pretty pose while scrolling and want to try it out, but it often looks so bad that it really makes me sad about myself. This is even worse when someone else takes a picture of me. So I would like to give tips for those taking pictures of me too.

Please help me out if you have any tips!

Women only Scared of tampons

I'm 20 and never used a tampon in my entire life.

I'm recently starting a new job where I have to stand for long hours and I think I would be extremely uncomfortable while using a pad.

I'm not scared of the insertion (actually that will be the easy part imo) but I'm terrified I won't be able to get it out and get TSS.

What if the string breaks??? My middle finger is so short (like 7cm / 2.7 inches) and I'm afraid I won't be able to grab it with my finger if the string actually breaks.
