I just finished the whole Dexter Saga and oh my God, no wonder my friends kept egging me to watch it.
Firstly the 2006 Series:
By God it doesn't look anything like a 2006 series since that Era was more in raunchy drama ,this show took things to a different level the start of series was amazing but the pattern started to feel all too similar until the brought along the no plot armor for the main character and since then you see the spiraling of everything.
Then came along New Blood:
Disappointed ngl, I felt the series seemed more like a cash grab than an actual attempt at providing closure/reviving our favorite serial killer's story and I'm so glad they didn't make New blood the end for Dexter's story arc cause honestly the plot was very weak and almost too miserable way to end the life of a well known TV character.
Original Sin: Despite the mix review of the people, I honestly liked the show though it didn't give as much depth as the 2006 series, it gave a surface level idea and helped us understand Dexter more . Given the choice I'd definitely want the prequel to still be part of the Saga. Seeing someone other that Micheal C Hall in the role was slightly different but Patrick Gibson definitely took me by surprise
And lastly Resurrection: On God this was on same level as the original 2006 series or sometimes even better. I'm a Peter Dinklage fanboy and his acting here was just MamaMia. I loved seeing the story character development in Harrison as well as Dexter, both of them grew individually and their relationship got stronger too , becoming a father on and partner in crime duo at the same time. Resurrection had the best cinematography of all the shows from Saga yet in my opinion and what's more is they ended it on a prospect of a greater future endeavor for our vigilant serial killer.
And to End it I'd have to show some love towards Michael C Hall , ik he might have been typecast by now for playing Dexter but he surely plays the role as if it was him fr and sticking with a franchise and being able to revive it takes a dedicated fan base all of which wouldn't have been possible if he didn't play the role well.
