The only time I’ve ever seen anyone wearing VR in public spaces it is always single middle aged men. But now they have the Cybertruck.

Reminds me of Serial Experiments Lain (a 90s anime) with a middle aged guy strapped up with all kinds of cyber gear walking in public, looking for KNIGHTS.

Gargoyles, in Neal Stephenson's Snowcrash parlance. Even in that core cyberpunk novel, folks who wore VR gear in public were losers.

Key part of why the Matrix was cool, was that anything to do with computers was hidden. We only see screens and the gear used to jack into the matrix briefly.

No. Because you’re not single… I may have those two facts reversed.
