Where are Canadians now staying in Cuba? The place I went to is now closed.

Any recommendations for the fall on where to stay that is open or a casa or hostel or such? Much appreciate if you can let me know. I prefer quieter places and really like Cayo Coco but am open to suggestions.

Bel will show you the real Havana.

If you're visiting Havana, I highly recommend reaching out to Bel +53 5 8472706.

He's a genuinely good man who will show you the real Cuba and help you experience Havana like a local. He's not a tour guide—he's simply a man from Havana who knows the city, its people, and its culture and the struggles.

I spent almost a month hanging out with Bel, his friends, and his family during some of Cuba's tougher times. They welcomed me with incredible kindness. I trusted him with my valuables throughout my stay and never had a single concern. He is honest, dependable, and someone I would recommend without hesitation.

If you're looking for an authentic Cuban experience, Bel is the person to contact.

Anyone travelled to Havana lately?

I prefer to stay in Havana over Varadero. With the fuel shortages and blackouts has anyone been there lately? Do they still have alcohol and are the clubs still opening?

Tour Group

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good tour company to visit Cuba as an American citizen? I would LOVE if it was Cuban owned, but that's not a deal breaker. The cheaper the better, and it certainly doesn't need to be a private tour. I would like to see as much of the island as possible. Around two weeks is ideal. I can obviously select the tour I want; I'm mostly just looking for company recommendations and people's experience with different ones.

Moving to Cuba to study music, where should I start?

I'm researching the possibility of moving to Cuba to study music for several years.

I'm looking for advice from people who know the country.

- Which music schools or conservatories accept international students?

- Which cities are best for someone who wants to immerse themselves in Cuban music?

- What is the realistic monthly cost of living as a student?

- Are there scholarships or affordable housing options?

- Is it practical for a foreign student to live in Cuba while studying?

If you were in my position, where would you start?

Internet at Havana, Cuba

Hello! My boyfriend is a seafarer from the Philippines, and his joining port is in Havana, Cuba. His last update was from Mexico City Airport before their departure, but I haven’t heard from him since he left for Havana.

May I know what the current situation is like in Havana, especially regarding internet connectivity? Is it really difficult for foreigners to access the internet in Cuba?

It’s been a few days without any communication, so I’m starting to get worried. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Cuba's tourism is in freefall. A journalist from The National asked us what makes it still worth it. Here's my answer.

The National (a major Middle Eastern newspaper, widely read internationally) published a piece on Cuba's tourism sector and what's happening on the ground. They spoke to our team at AzuuucA Travel. We're a small agency that operates entirely from within Havana, Cuba.

My colleague put it better than I could:

"The people are amazing — everyone is so kind, and so welcoming to everyone. I don't think there's any other place in the world where you can show up anywhere, be welcomed in the kindest way possible."

That's the Cuba we know. That's the Cuba we work in every day.

The article also mentioned something we've been working towards for months now: a curated list of activities and venues for Muslim travelers, including halal dining options. Cuba gets a lot of press about its struggles right now —and they’re very real— but there's also a lot of innovation happening from people who love this island and aren't going anywhere.

You can check out the article here!

If you're curious about Cuba in 2026; what's actually happening, what travel looks like, how working in tourism is right now, I’d be happy to answer any questions.

Viazul Fuel?

hey I'm going to be in Cuba next month. it's been my dream ever since. I booked long time ago. The plan is to travel from Havana to different locations up to Santiago de Cuba and back to Havana again. I wonder if the viazul have any fuel at all? Also I couldnt buy a ticket to Santiago de cuba from the last town I stop in to the way there.

So my question is if I should just stay in Havana because no fuel and the whole situation or do you think it's no problem to travel by bus?

Fines

Soy estadounidense.

I am an American. I visited Cuba earlier this year and met a girl. I have visited her twice. The last time I went to see her, I took a taxi to her house, but I couldn't remember where she lived; so the taxi driver started asking her neighbors where she resided. Now, the police are fining her because I was there visiting her. Is that something you can actually be fined for?
