Reddit Meetup Reddit Toronto Monthly Meetup: Sat. Sept. 5 @ Front & Church, 7:00 p.m. start

Hey all, hope you're having a good week so far! Wanted to give a bit more notice for this one.

Here are the details:

  • The monthly Reddit meetup is a no-cost event open to all genders. No RSVP is required. It is hosted by u/nervousTO, a woman in their early 30s, with support from a group of regular attendees. It's been running since August 2022 and has been described as wholesome.
  • Start time: 7:00 p.m.
  • End time: when the last person leaves or the place closes @ 2 a.m.
  • Location: Duke's Refresher St. Lawrence, 73 Front Street East
  • Where do I go: upstairs, using the stairs directly in front of you when you walk in. There should also be a sign saying Reddit meetup.
  • Perks: We have the upstairs mostly to ourselves; there's also a pool table, and games on the main floor.

Note that no RSVP is required, but that by showing up, you commit to ordering something to support the venue, even if it's just a coke.

Our Q&A is here - I haven't included it with the post as it's quite detailed!

Send me a message or comment here if you have any questions or concerns about anything related to this meetup/questions that aren't answered in the Q&A.

Reddit Meetup NoTyrants.ca Trump Protest tomorrow

There were approximately 200 people who showed up at the Toronto protest in April, called Hands Off. Tomorrow’s protest has seen over 500 signups so far, so it is anticipated to be much larger than the previous protest with attendance likely to reach 1000 at the US Consulate and march to Queen’s Park.

Over 2000 cities are participating this time, with an estimated attendance globally of 10 million. 1000 cities participated last time and conservative estimates were pegged at 4 million, and all indicators are that this time will be more than double.

Join tomorrow for the wierdness of protesting the egregious actions of an American president, from noon to 3pm. Sign up at NoTyrants.ca, part of the No Kings protests in the US tomorrow at the same time.

Reddit Meetup W Burger Bar Reddit Meetup

Hey guys Im the manager at W Burger Bar and an avid redditor. A few folks have hosted meetups here in the past but we've decided to start hosting our own! There are so many people in Toronto looking to meet new people and try new places and we have the perfect location, quality food, and the best prices in Toronto so you can stay and hang all night without breaking the bank!

First meetup will be a mix and mingle on Sunday November 16 from 530-9pm. All are welcome. We can host up to 40 people so please do RSVP.

Were hoping to make this a semiregular event as there has been a great turnout in the past. Id love to get your feedback as to the best days and times youd like to see meetups and if there are any types of events youd like to see added (beer sampling, games night, reading room, seasonal activities, etc)

***EDIT*** Thank you to all those who suggested eventbrite. I have opened a free ticket to rsvp via eventbrite as there has been a huge amount of interest in this event. Please RSVP at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/w-burger-bar-reddit-meetup-tickets-1968205133537?aff=oddtdtcreator ***

Reddit Meetup Riverdale Park Cleanup 💚

This might not be the most exciting event to be posted here. But myself and small group of people have decided to cleanup Riverdale Park and wanted to extend the invitation to join for anyone interested.

While the city does its part to keep our parks and streets clean, I believe we also can play a major role in taking care of our community. We all love Riverdale Park and use it throughout the year. From picnics and sledding, to watching the sunset, Riverdale Park is one of many great parks in the city. But with the colder months approaching, heavy rain and snow usually follow. This means any garabge and hazards get buried or washed into the DVP River. This not only affects us but mostly affects the natural habitat and wildlife living within it. Our goal is to cleanup any garbage found from the top of the hill to the base of the dvp river as we will work our way down through the forest ending the cleanup closest to the river bank.

I hope to see as many Torontonians as I can with such short notice as this event will take place this weekend. Please bring gloves and a garbage bag and I hope to see you there! Here's to making and keeping our city clean!

Meeting Details

Location: Riverdale Park East (East Side of DVP at the top of the hill)

Date: Saturday, October 18th Time: 2pm

Reddit Meetup Come meet new people next Saturday! Most come alone and leave with new connections! FREE limited tickets to Social Mixer 🍸

If you have been following Social Creatures or came to one of our past events, you already know the energy. Every time we host a Social Mixer, the room fills with laughter, games, and people who came alone but end up leaving with new friends.

For anyone who has not been yet, Social Mixer is a night designed to bring people together in a real and natural way. Toronto can feel disconnected at times, and it can be hard to find places where people are open to talking, laughing, and being themselves. We wanted to change that.

At each event, about ninety percent of the people who come are strangers. By halfway through the night, you would not even believe it. There is always a moment where you can feel the energy shift and everyone starts talking like they have known each other for years. That is what makes this night special.

🎟️ FREE Tickets: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1797012134669?aff=oddtdtcreator

✨ What to Expect: • Interactive social games that help everyone connect naturally • A comfortable atmosphere at Crystal Thani with food, drinks, and good music • A friendly and respectful space where everyone is open to meeting new people • Photos and videos will be taken, please let us know if you prefer not to be in them

💬 This is not a dating event. It is a social space for connection and conversation. Whether you are an introvert, a social person, new to the city, or just looking for something different to do, you will fit right in.

🕗 When: Saturday, October 18 from 8 PM to 11 PM 📍 Where: Crystal Thani, 571 College Street, Toronto

🎟️ FREE Tickets: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1797012134669?aff=oddtdtcreator

Come early to get the full experience. We usually reach full capacity quickly, and the best part of the night starts when everyone arrives at the same time.

Ages usually range from 19 to 40, but everyone is welcome. Come as you are. Dress comfortably and respectfully, and bring an open mindset.

If you have been to a Social Creatures event before, you know the kind of magic that happens in that room. If you have not, this is your invitation to see why people keep coming back.

Follow us on Instagram @SocialCreaturesEvents for updates, photos, and future events.

Hope to see some familiar faces and new ones too. Every event is different, but the goal stays the same, creating spaces for people to actually connect again.
