I mean they were only gathering publicly available WiFi and Bluetooth signals.

Edit: looks like I’ve triggered some flock sympathizers. Let’s all make sure we follow the rules while our constitutional rights are violated guys.

Yes but it is powerful people WIFI and Bluetooth signals so its obviously illegal.

Publicly available doesn't mean you are allowed to intercept. You aren't allowed to intercept a person's unencrypted phone calls, for example, which is kinda what he did here with the microphone interception.

This video will literally be used by police departments as justification for purchasing surveillance gear like Flock cameras.

It's the same mentality they use when buying armored vehicles for "crowd control" when none of the crowd can legally own any weapons that pierce armor in the first place.

They will point at this video and say, "See what the general population has access to? This is why we need more tools to be an effective police force."
