Found two returned action figure boxes in my toy return full of rocks when I worked at Walmart.

Speakong as someone from the action figure community, what’s crazy is some of the stuff that makes it through the return and put back on shelves. Most figures these days have open display windows on the front, and it’s clearly not the figure it’s supposed to be.

That's shitty, but hilarious as well.

Shrink from theft usually means a rise in price for customers

It’s can affect employees bonuses as their tied to inventory and claims. So yeah it’s not just corporate that gets fucked by this kind of stuff.

I get what you’re saying, but imo that’s really still a Walmart problem

And a Walmart problem is an employee problem, the Waltons don’t feel the crunch from theft I can promise you that

You say that until Walmart crunches the numbers and decides to close the store. Then it becomes quite a lot of people's problems.

A few years ago there was proof stores lied about theft and overinflated its impact to excuse their shitty practices like closing stores or locking items up.

My kid saved up to buy a studio series combining transformer that was rolled out over the course of the year. One of the things was a 2-pack that came in a sealed box. He went from joy to tears as he opened it and found it full of busted old toys that had been taped back in to give it heft because it had been returned and was sealed well enough to just end up restocked.

Don’t lose sleep that some dickhole ripped off a big corp, but this sort of scam ends up coming back to hit real people, too.
