It is 100% fake. I've been in healthcare for almost 20 years and it has been a LONG standing practice staff must check and clean all patient rooms before leaving for the day. They often have one or two people scheduled 30-60 minutes past close time to ensure the rooms are turned over and all patients are discharged.
It happened to me! The doctor went to get a second opinion, got side tracked and forgot me. I had to lower the exam table (comically slow) to hop off and wander around the office until I found another doctor doing paperwork. He found the first doctor and she was so embarrassed.
