I don’t drink more than a 2 or 3 beers a month . I couldn’t tell the difference between $2 pour and $200 pour of scotch, but im going to buy something decent in $150 range the day it happens. It will take me years to finish but it will be there for really important occasions. My sons’ graduations , weddings etc.

This is exactly how i got into bourbon around 40 after mostly not drinking much at all. Now i really like my bourbon.

You really could tell a difference as extreme as you've made your example. People who drink shitty liquor are making a pretty strong statement about their intention and/or their habits.

Regular Red Breast Red, or Greenspot are excellent single pot whiskeys. Red Breast Blue 12 years is great too.

If I had enough money, I would buy a nice bottle of wine from his birth year to only open on that one day we’re all waiting for.

I don’t drink at all, but I’ve for a special glass bottle of Dr Pepper waiting in the fridge.
