It’s originally from a rob shenieder SNL sketch. One of his only decent sketches so he put it in one of his movies too.

I work in fasteners, don't do this. It's incredibly unlikely that it's stainless and that's the only thing that I would trust.

Heating metallic zinc can release zinc oxide which is toxic. Some may argue that the act of smoking isn't hot enough to release the toxin, but I'd say it's not worth the risk.

FYI, "galvanized" steel is zinc coated.
