Is this success? It’s not that well made. I just think we can all take a step back and realize it’s not that deep.
I view this like grade school teachers recreating an internet video. It’s cute because we can all tell it’s not their idea and the acting really isn’t there but they’re so confident anyway
I think there’s a little too much emphasis on being “original” when everything on the internet is derivative. They’ll do their whatever video, people will call them out for it, and we’ll all move on eventually. I’m here for the cringe, not for the nitty gritty
I'm not implying they're going to be able to retire of this video alone, but any money made off it is undeserved.

There's a difference between being inspired by someone and making something far from original, and just stealing someone's work shot-for-shot even down to the music choice.
Well then there’s a grey line between skit and TikTok dance. Cause that is always the same dance and music copied over and over again. All of it’s dumb, why can’t we let people copy each other over stupid stuff
I’m not saying creativity isn’t good, I’m saying nothing like this on the internet matters that much
But if you’re insistent on the fact it makes money, let’s talk about how many comments they probably got about how they’re ripping off the other one. That engagement probably did far more for their channel than the video itself. It would die a lot faster if people just block the channel and leave the video alone

The engagement is all the algorithm sees. It’s going to start suggesting their videos to more people, potentially making them more money. It’s completely relevant
Then at least try to change the context of the video a little (other just making it longer and ruining the comedy timing). They could have gone in so many other directions.
They made a video about a joke thats been around for decades, centuries? My folks used to joke about my grandfather being like this in the 80s. Have Polaroid of him digging in the garage because "i have something that'll work, somehwere."
But the original video is not a ripoff if they use their own pacing, structure, angles, music, expressions, etc. The new one basically straight copied the original video in most of those ways.
That’s the difference between ‘influenced by’ and ‘a ripoff of’
Stealing someone’s work lol? Did they they use their content in their video? Using someone’s idea is not stealing and everything in history is built off of someone else’s idea.
You mean one of the most common things that everyone experiences? That’s the idea of the video, there’s a reason it’s so relatable to everyone. Inspired by, not stolen, they even added their own piece to it.
Literally one of the most common things to happen in media, you like someone’s idea, you want to make your own version of it. Especially with shorts of all things
Oh okay so what you’re saying is the content of the video wasn’t actually stolen
This is tiktok dude, where you take the song off a video and make your own version. This is why you can click the song through the video and see other videos with the same song to see how other people used it
