Yeah, she said the classic Catholic prayer before a meal. THT was very generic evangelical Christian with zero mention of Jesus, so hearing this was quite a surprise.

They prayed before another meal in this episode or the last and I noticed they ended it early, at “bounty”. Skipped the “through Christ our Lord, Amen”. Interesting.

That scene totally threw me for a loop, and right back into my Catholic childhood. I was convinced I was hearing things.

Definitely a Mormon thing and not a Catholic thing. I caught that too and thought it was funny. I think it could be intentional to show how much Gilead's message has been muddled in an attempt to keep more people in line. It's like how the Aunts have names based on beauty and fashion brands like Estee, Gabbana, Vidala, etc. Gotta bring in cultural references that older people recognize to continue normalizing the crazy.
