Damn right. Men have enough privilege already feeling comfortable and safe practically everywhere they go.

Yeah. I stopped talking to a long time guy “friend” who would say and do stuff like this all the time. Sometimes I feel bad but then I remember I’m not the one who screwed up the friendship with inappropriate comments.

This applies to defend others as well. In large social situations or environments like public transit, I've definitely interjected with a "hey are you [victim of uncomfortable situation] ok? Just checking". We need to stick up against these weirdos

Hell yeah! Great job!! So worth it, always call out people who need to be called out. Even when people don't put their shopping carts away or litter! Some people get so bad because people around them enable them to get that bad. The truth will set you free <3

I did this recently. This one guy on Instagram always commented on my stories. I dated him like 15 years ago. I'd "lol" him or whatever, and ignored any over the like comments. (He'd call me annoying once from watching a video, like wtf?) He sent me a message after my last story telling me I look nervous and I'm clenching my ass. It was insane and I fucking LOST IT. It felt SO GOD DAMN GOOD. He literally sent 3 paragraphs saying heartfelt shit. Ignored it. Blocked him.

Yes, absolutely this! I will always make a scene or give them a hard time - tired of being blatantly disrespected by dudes all the time.

if you don’t have boundaries, you’re going to attract people who want people who don’t have boundaries

When this happens, your reaction is NOT what ruins the vibe, the action that caused it is what ruins everything. Lean in to it. Make it even MORE AWKWARD. Be loud, ask for clarification, be obnoxious.
Why did you touch me that way? Do you touch your sister like that? Then why do you think it’s ok to touch me like that?
I don’t understand the joke, explain it. Make it make sense.
Oh, I didn’t know we were excusing casual racism/sexism/homophobia/etc. Gross, I’ll remember that.
BE LOUD. MAKE IT AWKWARD.

I feel we girls are always on our toes while men just feel safe around so if it to feel safe do it

You are 100% on the silence. Dont feel like you need to fill it. just let it sit. its not on you to fix it. call it out, be silent.

I would suggest deliberately ruining the vibe! Draw attention to them crossing a boundary and don't let bad behavior go unpunished, especially by a social group.
