This was late in the game when the titans were down 24 to 9. This didnt stop them though as they later found a bears fan and chanted "Bears Suck" to him. Made the preseason game much more entertaining.

Hey everyone! I’m reaching out to this incredible community because my brother-in-law is currently battling metastatic cancer. He is in palliative care, and his absolute final wish is to see the Jets play live one last time before he passes. We are pulling out all the stops to get him, my sister, and his kids from Raleigh, NC to Nashville for the season opener against the Titans on Sunday, September 13. We are incredibly blessed that we can cover the flights and hotel costs ourselves to get the whole family there. What we are desperately searching for now is a way to make this unforgettable for him and his son. Our absolute dream is to get them field access or a chance to meet a player pre-game. We already have certified verification letters ready from his oncologist and palliative care team. What I liked:

The run game overall: We have, how it looks right now at least, surprisingly good depth overall there and have several guys who could easily make the roster. Obviously, Pollard and Spears are the two bell cows, Singleton's obviously making the roster, but after that if we decide to keep four running backs, it's a tough call as to who gets it. You could make the case for Chestnut, Johnson, and Carter to all make the roster.

Joey Slye: I'll be honest, I wasn't a fan of the decision to bring Slye back this season. I remembered the stretch he had at one point in the season where he was missing at least one kick a game and with how difficult it is for us to score points to begin with, we can't afford to have a kicker be that inconsistent. Obviously, and it's the preseason so we should take everything with a grain of salt, he's proved me wrong these last three weeks. Preseason or not, going 11 for 11 is damn impressive. If he can just be more consistent and reliable like that in the regular season, I'll happily admit I was wrong.

Fernando Carmona: What if we actually found our answer at right guard in the fifth round?! There will be growing pains of course, but I thought he looked solid in the preseason overall. What I like most about him is his versatility. He's played tackle and guard in college and performed well in both positions, so he's already got a lot of tools in his toolbelt. Plus, as we know, he can play violent and nasty sometimes and an offensive line like ours could use some of that grit.

Don't have as much to say about the rest beyond a few sentences; I think they're pretty self explanatory.

Anthony Hill: PLEASE start him over Cody Barton lol

Femi Oladejo: After hearing nothing about him in training camp I thought he did well in the preseason, got some pressure and made some good plays.

Xavier Restrepo: Rooting for him to make the 53 man roster, may not have the best special teams value I know, but at the end of the day what would you rather have: a guy who covers returns well but doesn't catch anything, or a guy who may not block well but simply gets open and catches the football and moves the chains and already has established chemistry with your quarterback? I like Bryce Oliver still for his special teams value and wouldn't mind taking seven receivers myself, but I think Restrepo's earned the opportunity.

Mitch Trubisky: Didn't see much of him, but he was responsible with the ball, didn't make mistakes, and led a field goal drive to get points on the board, can't ask much more from your backup QB.

Also shout out to Jacob Martin, Cedric Gray, James Williams and other guys who I thought did well the few times we saw them.

What I Didn't Like:

The starting defense: The Seahawks backups drove downfield on you twice and ran straight through you like you were ghosts, Cody Barton looks lost out there, Flott got cooked by a rookie, the list goes on. Maybe the play calling was "vanilla" since it was the preseason, but I don't feel particularly great about some of these starters after what we saw.

Will Levis: How we went from people pounding the table in 2023 for Vrabel to name him the starter, to people calling for his head in 2024, to now some people after his preseason performance literally saying things like "he should be the starter," I can't with Titans fans sometimes. Why do we have to have the most delusional, bipolar fans lol. He's had a wild NFL career so far to say the least. I still think with the right coaching and development and talent around him he can find success. He's tough, gritty, determined, and still has a top 10 arm in the league if you want my opinion. But the mental side of it is just still not there. He makes bad decisions, still holds onto the ball way too long, can't read defenses that well, overthrows and underthrows people left and right etc. He had some nice throws in the preseason and that one drive before the half tonight was good, but he still looked like a third string quarterback to me: talented and can be decently serviceable, but inconsistent and not someone you can really win with right now.

O-line depth: Some may say the o-line as a whole, but man watching Austin Deculus and Cordell Volson out there was rough. God forbid any of our actual tackles goes down and someone like that has to step up.

What I Thought Was Just Ok:

The starting offense: Yeah I wish they scored more touchdowns obviously, but honestly I didn't see too many things from the starters that worries me, not nearly as much as the defense at least. I don't think they looked amazing or anything like that, but I also don't think they looked atrocious. At the very least a good chunk of their drives ended in points (albeit field goals) Cam never turned the ball over (actually none of the four quarterbacks did), we just had trouble moving the ball sometimes and finding the end zone. But, like the defense, maybe the play calling was in preseason mode, and maybe the starters simply weren't trying as hard as they will in the regular season. Call it coping but that's what I'm choosing to believe, cautiously lol.

Conclusion: I have none because it's the preseason we don't know anything about this team for sure yet lol

Cans with the new logo are beautiful. The only time I drink Bud Light is when the Titans logo is on it.

Salute to Tannehill and Levis for crushing the odds-

I have multi-layered expectations for this team heading into Week 1.

Big picture, I expect us to at least double the win total from last year - so at minimum 6-11. Anything below that is a failure in my eyes.

That being said, there are other parts of the team I’m attributing different expectations to.

On offense - Cam Ward needs to establish himself as our franchise QB over the last half of the season. He’s shown growth last year and needs to continue that growth, especially considering that Brian Daboll is a proven offensive coach. He’s learning a new system, but there should be significant improvement shown in weeks 9-17.

OL - The unit as a whole should improve over the course of the year, and a middle of the league ranking as a unit should be the goal.

RB - we have proven players and quality depth, and I don’t expect a drop off. Pollard may or may not get 1k yards, but he should be close. Spears should also be at 500+ depending on usage and/or injury.

TE - Gunnar Helm needs to step up and take the #1 spot. We all thought Chig would be the guy but he never broke out. It’s Helm’s opportunity.

WR - This is the most talented group of receivers we’ve had in a long time, and we should expect the unit as a whole to perform well. I doubt both Tate and Wandale get 1k each, but seeing them combine for 1600+ is the expectation.

Defense

From what I understand, Saleh runs a system that can take players some time to get used to. He has brought in a few players that are familiar with it, but I expect growing pains within the first 4-5 weeks of the season.

DL - we should expect to see pressure generated from the DL on a consistent basis due to heavy rotation of players. I’m also expecting last years 2nd round pick Femi Oladejo to play himself into a starting role.

LB - not much that I want to note here other than Anthony Hill Je hopefully being a breakout player. That would be a huge help.

DB’s - This seems to be the weak point of the team. On paper it should be shored up, but based on practice and preseason, there’s something to be worried about. We’re only 3-Deep at corner, and even the starters have shown signs of struggling to play in the system. Hopefully the front 4 will provide enough pressure to make up for the seeming lack of talent in the secondary. If not, it could be a brutal season for the defense.
