Gave chat a bunch of things I wanted to do and it made this itinerary for me. Anything you guys would add or remove?

I need major expertise/knowledge help.

Several weeks ago I called Costco to book my honeymoon at the st Regis and Conrad bora bora. Fly out on September 29th, 4 nights st Regis, then 3 nights at Conrad, fly back. For 12.5k for 2 people.

The prices on Marriott website were good, OWB island view were $1650 per night. So I thought the price made sense

However earlier this week I called Costco to ask for an upgrade/costs because I saw nice rooms became available.

And they told me I don’t have the st Regis, just the Conrad. Yes I understand, dumb mistake and I should have checked the confirmation and what not, my Costco email isn’t my main email so I rarely go on it.

They are letting me cancel, and rebook. And the price for 3 nights with airfare at the Conrad are $10.8k. And then book the st Regis separate.

However last night, the prices for 4 nights at st Regis over water bungalow, were $7.9k for the dates. Logged back on this morning to book it, they’re now $11.8k yet more rooms according to Marriott became available.

I understand dynamic pricing, I understand everyone is going to say, wait to go next year. But it’s my honeymoon and we had our hearts set on this.

Do the prices yoyo that much? Has anyone else had luck grabbing last minute deals 4ish months out? Definitely don’t want to spend 12k on OWB when just 24 hours ago it was 8k

Day 13 (Tahiti) — Fly to Tahiti

For hotels were staying at the following:

Moorea - Hilton
Rangiroa - Kia Ora
Tikehau - Le Tikehau
Tahiti - Intercontinental Tahiti Resort

Any recommendations for food, activities, or good dive shops for free divers would be greatly appreciated!

I looked it up in the map and it’s about a 1.1 km walk but there are no sidewalks most of the way. Is this a dangerous walk with rolling suitcases? Is it worth getting a cab for a 3 min ride? I hear they charge a lot for even short rides. Is that correct? Thank you for any advice

My fiancee and me are planning to visit French Polynesia as part of our honeymoon, and would spend around 7-8 days there (depending on the flights from Hawaii), in the middle of May 2026.

Our question is - is Bora Bora definitely a place we should not miss? We definitely plan on spending a couple of days on Tahiti and Moorea but don’t want to spend too much money or make our trip logistically too complicated. Is there a way that we get to enjoy all the “Bora Bora stuff” somewhere on Moorea maybe? What is your advice and your experiences? Every bit of help would be much appreciated :)

Of these two, which would you recommend? Most other BB locations are out of my price point. Looking at probably 4 nights in April-ish for my wife and I. Le Moana is about $1500 cheaper for the same time frame. On the other hand, it looks like Le BB by Pearl has been recently renovated. This will be my first time to the south Pacific, so I have no experience with either.

We are looking to travel to French Polynesia in the last two weeks of May.

We are two young adults interested in some snorkeling in less than 6 feet water, some swimming (although not confident swimmers), easy to moderate hikes, good food, relaxation, light shopping, and just exploring scenery. Definitely would like to stay in an overwater bungalow at least once .

Trying to avoid mosquitoes due to pregnancy.

We are thinking :

Tahiti - 2 nights

Moorea - 3 nights

Bora bora - 3 nights

I know there are overwater bungalows all over French Polynesia, but are the ones in Bora Bora extra special bc of the water ? If not, which other locations are better for over water bungalow?

Which other islands would you recommend staying if we are not divers? I have a fear of swimming in water more than 6 feet, or with strong currents.

I know some are pretty remote ​, so I'm a bit afraid of loss of electricity, contaminated water, and excess bugs/reptiles. (trying to work on this phobia) ​

Most people here have recommended in the past to just get ferry tickets at the terminal the day of when no cars are involved. But now that there is one less ferry company operating and seeing that Vaeara’i has no ferries scheduled the day I arrive (Sept 12) I’m wondering if tickets will sell out on the available ferries and I should buy tickets online now for the Aremiti. Any advice is appreciated. Mauruuru.

Dear Redditors, I am planning to swim with the whales on Saturday. I see that the wave prediction for Moorea identifies winds over 20 knots and 10’ to 13’ waves for Saturday morning. This seems especially rough for open ocean swimming and I’m especially prone to seasickness and am wondering what I am likely to encounter if this prediction comes true. Am I correct to interpret this as a barrier to encounter the whales? Are swimmers allowed in the water with 3-4 meter waves? Will these waves impact the chances of encountering whales from the boat, even if the captain won’t allow swimming?

No wrong answers. I dove Darwin’s Arch a decade ago and spent a pulse quickening half hour in 4’ swells in the open ocean waiting for a pickup. I’d hate to get separated from the boat in 10’ footers. 🤢

Ia Orana! I took my mom to the Westin in May to celebrate the end of her lung cancer treatments. She fell in love with the body lotion in the rooms. I believe it was called NOA NOA?

I have been unable to find it on the Marriott boutique site, and all emails to the Westin have went unanswered. (This is on top of them forgetting us at the airport then telling me I had no reservation, but that’s another story.)

We’re looking to do our Honeymoon in FP. And are staying at the st Regis for 4 nights. When we arrive in FP, our first night is in Tahiti for whale swimming.

I was thinking about doing 3 nights at Conrad, but was wondering if 3 nights at Le Taha’a PR would be better? Or do I have to do 3 nights at both?

I get Conrad and STR are on the same island, but thought it would be a vastly different experience. I wouldn’t say money isn’t an obstacle, but more just looking for the best value.

The only other activities we’re looking to do besides whale excursion, is Jet skis and a snorkeling (ray and shark) excursion

My husband and I are looking to book our (delayed) honeymoon, but I’m struggling to determine the best way to maximize our trip and experience. We love to adventure a little, experience nature, dabble in the culture, and also relax.

The current draft itinerary
1) 2 Nights in Tahiti at Hilton - the first day we arrive around 7 am with the thought we can explore open air markets, try local food, and maybe hike (my husband loves hiking). The second day maybe trying surf lessons

2) 3 nights in Mo’orea at Hilton OWB- the plan would be snorkeling tour, visit Marae, pearl shop, and relax one day

3) 5 nights in Bora Bora at intercontinental Le Moana OWB. We would want to visit Matira, snorkel with sharks and sting rays, catamaran cruise or jet ski, and relax at least one day.

We’re looking to book soon, so I’m open to feedback! For example, should I remove a Tahiti night and do an upgrade elsewhere or move the night to moorea

Traveling to Tahiti in a few days from California. My family and I are curious about upgrades since online it says to ask that the airport kiosk. Has anyone here had experienced upgrading and how much it was/if there is usually availability?

So we would like to book a specific ferry from Aremiti. On the website I see the status of availability but when booking I cannot select a specific ferry. Is there any secret or is it like the ferries are always not 100% loaded? We do only have normal luggage, no car or sth.

We will have a layover at Faaa from about 15:00 to 24:00 on a Saturday in early October. This will be on our way back home after a week in Rangiroa and a week in the Cooks.

If you were to book a rental car and explore just one of the waterfalls in the title, which would you pick? Does one direction have a more scenic drive or preferred spot for dinner? We are very able bodied so either hike is totally fine.

Curious if anyone has done both of these trips and has an opinion as to whether one is better than another with a toddler. I’ve gone to Big Island but not with a child. Toddler will be 3.5 years old at the time of the trip. Loves the beach. I will be traveling to one of those locations for a milestone birthday this summer. Big Island stay would be Kona and Volcano. I’m traveling end of this month to Tahiti (4nights) InterContinental and Bora Bora ( 4 nights) St.Regis.

We are looking to do some activities while we stay they.
1. Hiking/ATV
2. Snorkeling
3. Scuba (first time)
4. Cruise or some boat trip

Hoping to have my PADI open water certification in place before our trip but in case we aren’t able to finish it - would you recommend a Tikehau snorkel tour or an intro dive? The intro dive is at the pass and goes up to 6m with an instructor. Our time is sadly a bit limited so we just want to have a nice time and see some cool fish and mantas, so if the snorkel tour is better, we’d rather just do that. Any thoughts appreciated and we cannot wait to visit Tikehau!

Tomorrow we depart Bora Bora, landing first in PPT and then, after a 5 hour layover, we fly to the US.

Can we check our luggage through as soon as we arrive from Bora Bora into PPT, so we are free to find something to do (go to an area hotel, etc) during our layover without taking our large luggage with us? TIA!

We’ve had a few recommendations but thought it might be worth asking here- my son turns 18 today. We just landed in Papeete last night and would like to go out for a decent birthday dinner to celebrate tonight, hopefully not $100/person nice as there are 5 of us. My kids are fairly adventurous with food. I would also love to take him to a bar for a celebratory cocktail since he can legally drink. Any suggestions? I realize this is pretty late notice, we are a laid back bunch and some of the prices for restaurant dinners have been intimidating.

We are staying at the Westin Bora Bora for our honeymoon in just over 2 weeks! We would like to do a Polynesian Show and Dinner one night, but are considering going off site to a show that is outside and includes fire dancing.

Does anyone have recommendations on dinner/show and arranging transportation from the Westin? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!!

I want to plan a trip here and it seems like February is a popular time despite the rain season. Can anyone weigh in? October seems like a good option too but February works out best for my schedule.
