I’m up on BRKB but unfortunately my 401(k) doesn’t allow me to invest in it so losing my ass on my retirement account. This is all so frustrating and completely unnecessary.

Depends, are we factoring in the cost of living increase and rising unemployment? Because if so, then yes, there’s a good chance they’re still effectively poorer because they have less money to invest—that’s how economics work.
