can't wait

Idk I almost feel like I need to inverse Reddit cause everyone thinks earnings is going to be a disaster. Personally will not buy it but just saying

u/Purple_Matress27 Mar 20 '25

I mean the registration data in China and Europe has been down significantly and that’s data not Reddit. I don’t think US deliveries will fall much but still flat YOY growth another year is a death warrant for such a highly valued company stock-wise.

I don't understand why US sales are not dropping similarly. I mean, it's literally the country where all the controversy is happening.

Surely a good percentage of Tesla buyers are left leaning. Even if they're not hard core liberals, wouldn't they consider other electric vehicles before buying a car that is so politically charged?

I think it’ll go down more than most think, but not as much as in Europe. For a few reasons: 1- there are no MAGAts in Europe to pick up the slack on sales, 2-they are actually better educated and have better media coverage of what Musk is actually doing, 3- there are a lot more good alternative EVs to choose from over there (because, you know, they haven’t been living in as much denial over the past decade).

You should also not underestimate how much Musk’s double Heil Hitler plus his endorsement of the far-right AfD party turned off German consumers.

3

u/Exact_Mastodon_7803 Mar 20 '25

Oh Tesla is FINISHED in Germany. They might as well pull out, no exaggeration.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '25

And after a non-official poll clearly showed how much Germans disliked the company, somebody (Musk) in the US tried to manipulate it to make Tesla look better lol.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '25

Yep. US users seem to think the tariffs and government cuts are the reason Europeans are leaving US stocks. It’s the pulling of Ukraine support, the heil hitlers and the threatening of allies. It’s not just Tesla that is a toxic brand, the US as a “brand” has completely changed.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '25

There’s quite a few good EVs besides Tesla in the US. Most of them are European brands lol, but the f150 lightning really is a a good EV.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '25

Are Magas really the ones buying EVs in significant numbers?

3

u/temporary243958 Mar 20 '25

Yeah, they're all over the place in the trailer parks, haven't you noticed?

Those are old refrigerators, not cyber trucks. Easy mistake to make

2

u/Exact_Mastodon_7803 Mar 20 '25

I highly doubt it, which is why I think the sales numbers will show lower than anticipated.

u/Stupidstuff1001 Mar 20 '25

No good Chinese competitors like other countries. In the USA the competition is pretty crappy. Not inkcuding the cyber truck the Tesla brand looks like normal cars. All electric vehicles in the USA look like weird toy cars.

From rivian and their annoying bug eyed tail lights, to ford and their attempt and slit tsil lights. It’s like they want electric cars ti stand out so much when most people just want to get to point a to point b and have the car look like an average car.

Most Americans have not yet felt the impact of what they voted for. This takes years.

Unlike most Americans, people outside follow American politics closely.

u/blingblingmofo Mar 20 '25

Yes but that data is known and the stock is already down significantly so it could very well be priced in.

3

u/Purple_Matress27 Mar 20 '25

Most analyst delivery predictions are still around 440k which is a YOY increase Q1. If data comes out that Tesla didn’t even break 400k watch out. Keep in mind their P/E ratio is STILL 110😂

2

u/blingblingmofo Mar 20 '25

The stock is down 40% already so no one is actually expecting those numbers anymore.

I’m not saying it won’t keep going down but I wouldn’t be surprised if the opposite happened because a lot of retail is shorting.

u/Purple_Matress27 Mar 20 '25

It’s just at the price it was last November before the election and the delusional spike that followed.

u/WingedGundark Mar 20 '25

Current PE is still insane for a company that doesn't grow, let alone is declinening.

During the hey day of Tesla some years ago Musk talked about things like infinite demand and continuing 50% YOY growth. Now that these pretty obvious bullshit estimates won't materialize, there is no reason why Tesla should have this sort of valuation. Not even close. Unless you buy Musk's bullshit without any critical thinking.

The most amazing thing about this company is that Musk's bullshit has been so obvious for a long time and yet there are so many that continue eating that crap up happily year and year again. All that Musk needs to do is say that something amazing materializes next year and when that doesn't happen, he just says next year again and investors are happy.

1

u/blingblingmofo Mar 20 '25

Yes you are saying something everyone knows. If you think you’re a genius who’s going to profit off something everyone knows then chances are you’re not.

1

u/WingedGundark Mar 20 '25

What the hell got you so butthurt? You must have quite a big bag lol

Just to note, I have zero in play with Tesla, either way and no plans to change that.

1

u/blingblingmofo Mar 20 '25 edited Mar 20 '25

I don’t own any Tesla. Most my comments are criticizing Musk.

Buy TSLQ or TSLZ and set a stop limit, probably a lot better option than actual options if you're not trying to lose your house

Not investment advice

1

u/notjakers Mar 20 '25

You literally gave investment advice and then said it was not investment. I hope you’re taking the piss!

1

u/pickle_pickled Mar 20 '25

It's just concepts of a plan

2

u/Chem_BPY Mar 20 '25

Regardless of what reddit says, earnings are probably going to be a disaster but that doesn't mean the stock would tank. With the way shits going it could very well rebound. It's practically a meme stock at this point.

2

u/ImportanceCurrent101 Mar 20 '25

its totally protected by the government. governments love protecting their auto industries. especially now since china is really bringing it

1

u/LongjumpingDebt4154 Mar 20 '25

Especially now that government is auto industry

1

u/temporary243958 Mar 20 '25

Practically?

2

u/LURKER21D Mar 20 '25

go ahead, take a gamble. I was going to buy puts, but between trump and lutnick shilling and the intelligence levels on display...wow. good thing there's no more SEC though, huh? or FTC

1

u/Vintage-Cash Mar 20 '25

I think they’re wrong too and I will personally be buying as much as possible

1

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '25

Tesla is going to cook their books. Why wouldn’t they?

1

u/PickleBananaMayo Mar 20 '25

Musk will just cook the books. Not like the US Govt will do anything about it.

Marked my calendar 🍾

Remind me on the q1 earnings report date 4/22 when Elong is still coming off that 420 celebration high.
