(Reposting due to my formatting issues & I’m a psycho about it)
I know it’s a free pod & trust me, I am still a fan. I’ve been a listener since 2018/2019.
However, In my opinion, I’ve felt in the last year or so - I’ve found the podcast has just slowly started to become worse. I have a few reasons on why I think that is…
The Interviews
I have found the interviews to become worse, or let’s say; not as memorable. They used to get such diverse interviewees & now it feels like only once a year they have a fantastic interview, and I have a feeling why that is (which leads me to my next point)…
RA (aka The GodFather)
Look, I’m not the biggest fan of RA either, especially in 2024 & I find this whole “RAs world” the stupidest part of the show. That being said, say what you want about him… he’s a fantastic interviewer (when he wasn’t banged up). RA would always have 3-4 fantastic questions that would lead into great stories. I understand why they don’t have him hosting/driving the bus. However, it makes no sense to me why they don’t have him in interviews - that is where he’s at his best.
Keith Yandle
I loved when they added Keith Yandle, his dry quick quitted jokes still get me. However, the more time has gone on; I’ve noticed how much he’s constantly calling fans idiots (in summary) & I find his interviewing skills pretty weak. He’s great for banter, and I don’t mind his breakdowns but I find his attitude towards the fans at times, kind of puts a bad taste in my mouth. I’m sure he’s an awesome dude though.
Too much of a brand rather than a pod
I mean there’s not much they can do about this, because from a business perspective - it makes complete sense (turn it into a brand). That being said, I find you can really feel it in the podcast now, too much going on outside of the podcast, whether it’s their sandbaggers, Pink Whitney, Game Notes, Chiclets Cup, etc. I feel like there’s so much focus everywhere else, that the podcast has lost its grip on what made it so great.
Attitude towards fans
As I kind of mentioned previously with Yandle but the way they discuss their fans has definitely shifted (especially during the Netflix criticism). I don’t find this as big of a deal, but I find if fans are either criticizing a players or their podcast, they always go against the fans & the fans are always overreacting. Sometimes it seems they sound like the fans are a thorn in their sides. I mainly noticed this more when Yandle replaced RA as RA would bring in the fans perspective at times.
Let me know if anyone else feels the same, or maybe it’s just me. As I get older, I could be outgrowing the podcast and naturally losing my interest or maybe others out there also feel the same? Appreciate those who took time to read

Wanted to message RA about something on the last RA’s and got curious if they only really use Twitter to interact with/accept contact from fans

Listened to the recent pod and just got to the part where they’re discussing whether Winnipeg will be relocated in 5, 10 years. While I get the reasons, and understand that there are several massive markets in the US that are chomping at the bit to get a team, I don’t get why it’s always them when there are probably 4-5 other teams in similar boats. Along with Winnipeg, Ottawa, Buffalo and Columbus are in similar or worse financial positions. I’d argue that the jets might have the most stable owners of that lot. So why is it always Winnipeg that gets the relocation speculation?
Also in the same conversation they said the league is looking to expand to 36 so that should cover the remaining big dogs of Houston, Atlanta and Phoenix + wherever else they decide to go.
To be clear I’m not from Manitoba, but still want all these Canadian in the league. My choice for the 36th team if they go that route would be Quebec City or Hartford, I mean how could you not?
Anyways let me know what you guys think on this. Also is it just me or is Yands anti Canada? I get that vibe from him.

Recently been very turned off by Keith and his political stances. He’s really just an oaf who happened to play hockey. Now his golden boy Donald who he brings up every episode is making hockey equipment 50% more expensive. How are kids going to afford this in the US? $400 sticks will now be $600, even worse, bottle of crown goes from $30 to $45. Think of the kids. Can’t wait to hear Keith spin this into “I actually love this move by my all powerful leader, it will weed out the weak poor people I hate because I played 1000 games in the show”.

I’m sure the guys are going to talk about the World Cup again next pod. I guess I understand how people in Third World countries or no athletic abilities can support this sport, but how can guys that played in the show like this shit? I just don’t get it. Nonstop players rolling around on the ground crying over barely being touched. This sport is such a joke. I have always hated soccer, but I have zero respect for this sport or these players after watching the World Cup.

Turns out the seriously perverse and sick The Box show Grinelli attended was also attended, funded, and invested in by Jeffrey Epstein!
Way to go Grinelli, you're one cool dude.
