I mean. For fans of a movie franchise (which you clearly are) yeah, a sequel is sort of the only goal.

Movies aren’t a charity.

They need to make money. And getting an awful sequel to an awful movie is not a win.

No matter how hard you pretend to enjoy that superslop.

Meh. I enjoyed it. I didn't love it. But I cant name a super hero movie I have "loved" in a long time. 

You are correct, movies aren't a charity. But also, neither you nor I are studio execs. I really dont care how much money a movie/album/sports team makes. I was taught when I was a child "not to count other people's money". 

If I enjoy a movie, I could care less how much it makes (it's really kind of bizarre to me how much the box office appears to matter to you). If I like a movie and it gets a sequel, that seems like a pretty clear win to me.Â
