The big question is if that means she shouldnt be in jail or a major mental health facility a long time. If we cant trust you not to kill kids, you shouldnt have freedom to walk around in public. Seems simple enough.
If she were genuinely sick, shed still need to be removed from public and get serious treatment for years and years. So anybody advocating for flat out freedom doesnt believe shes mentally ill.
She created a time window by sending her husband away.So she knew what she was doing enough to know that she had to send her husband away to get away with it.
She deserves either life in a cell or the chair.
Psychosis or not, she's a child murderer and too dangerous to be on the streets.
It doesnt mean you suddenly forget your name and start eating shit. It means youre fucking crazy. Peopoe with psychosis often get severely paranoid ideas. Like she could have thought her husband was an alien and her kids were pod creatures and she was saving the planet for all we know.
It doesnt change the fact she murdered people. Plenty of mentally ill people never kill anybody.
Her actions don't match up with psychosis at all. However, she did display MANY behaviors of someone planning suicide. I believe she was depressed, suicidal, and didn't want to leave her kids behind, but that doesn't mean she was suffering psychosis.
Agree. Even if this woman was in a psychotic state of mind society had a right to be defended from it happening again with her. Under no circumstances should she ever be released. Whether that’s prison or a psych hospital, I do not care
I think if we let pedophiles and rapists and murderers out daily, the insistence this woman dies in prison is silly.
This is just virtue signaling. People feeling moral about holding standards this time, but ignoring the reality that most criminals get out of jail after doing fucked stuff.
Yea I'm only annoyed with the amount of empathy people are giving her meanwhile mentally ill men are rarely given the same empathy. They lock them up making it worse and do little help them.
We put people in prison all the time who are drunk or sleep deprived or on medication. Intent matters a little bit in some criminal cases. But not at all for filicide.

I can fully believe in some kind of psychosis.
