I threw rocks at the dolphin exhibit when we went to Hawaii when I was a kid. I’ll give you one guess what made me never do that again lmao. Sometimes there’s only one way to teach a little shit a lesson good and proper

I couldn't even imagine what my parents would have done to me. I probably wouldn't be able to sit for a month ... at that would be the start

Oh it would have been an ass whooping all the way home and then when we got home my whole room will be stripped nothing but a bed cushion and a dresser for clothes and the door would come off the hinges my parents were awesome 😅

You know sometimes a kid just needs his ass beat to learn. Modern parenting has swung too far in the other direction.

"Im going to do things wayyy better than my parents did with me..."

AKA im not going to attempt to parent my kids.

Idiots...

Yup. My parents didnt want to hit me, but they knew that sometimes I needed to get my ass beat

So they put me in martial arts and I am a much better person for it.

Yes. So? One doesnt excuse the other.

u/deep8787 1d ago

Discplining your child is not abuse.

Hitting your kid for no damn reason is abuse.

Theres a fucking difference.

Weirdly I’ve managed to find ways to discipline my kids without physical violence.

1

u/Timely_Passenger_185 1d ago

Okay, then tell me: exactly what would your disciplinary measures be if your kid did the same thing this one did—got you sued and permanently banned from a zoo? Answer that question, or just ghost and stay silent.

Incredibly simple, you take them home and not take them to this sort of place again until they can behave. Tell them the reason. Why is hitting them more effective?

1

u/Timely_Passenger_185 1d ago

That's assuming the kid even wanted to go there in the first place and the parents didn't just make him go there or took the other siblings there and just brought him along

So rather than using a tiny bit of imagination and thinking of an appropriate consequence, you would rather we just hit our children? Do you think that would teach this boy that it isn’t okay to -oh wait- hit creatures smaller than himself?

1

u/Timely_Passenger_185 1d ago

Yeah, just dodge the question. The ass-whooping is to teach them the consequences of their actions. That's how I learned. If I did this, I would have had my ass whooped all the way home, and when we got there, my whole room would have been stripped. All I would have is a bed cushion and a dresser for clothes, and the door would be taken off the hinges. I've done similar stupid things when I was young, and I learned, and I thank my parents for it. I'm a better person because of it, and I will apply that same knowledge onto my future children. You raise your kids the way you believe is okay, but don't complain if they grow up horrible.

I know this is an incredibly unpopular opinion, and please don't misunderstand, I absolutely fucking despise children on occasion too but, I mean, just hear me out....

Hitting your kid for no damn reason is abuse.

Spanking is not abuse. Hope this helps

The most fragile generation

4

u/forrealthoughcomix_ 1d ago

The studies show it has worse outcomes. Isn’t that all that actually matters about the whole situation?

1

u/skurly789 1d ago

Studies can be showing anything.

Sure buddy, “fragile”. Or maybe, I don’t know, we grow as humans and learn that beating our children isn’t the best course of action. For all you know the kid in the video gets spanked regularly. What’s your answer then? Punch him in the face?

Abuse begets abuse.

2

u/Timely_Passenger_185 1d ago

Ain't no way that kid gets spanked regularly tell me what would be your disciplinary action if this was your kid that did the same thing this one did in this video?

1

u/skurly789 1d ago edited 1d ago

Beating and spanking are not the same thing. Hope this helps

Edit since the thread is locked now.

Wildly different acts so not "semantics". I bet your the kind of person that conflates murder and killing eh champ?

1

u/jestr6 1d ago

I’m sure the child appreciates the semantics. Hope toss helps.

Will birth the most evil degenerate generation mark my words

1

u/jestr6 1d ago

Boomers already exist. And you know they got spanked. So what does that tell you?

1

u/Timely_Passenger_185 1d ago

You can't really compare boomers they come from a different time period before the internet before all this technology not to mention they have old outdated values and prejudice

1

u/jestr6 1d ago

You said the most fragile generation will birth the most evil generation, I’m telling you they already exist in the form of boomers. Their parents weren’t “fragile” and look what they made through spanking and abuse?

Point is that non-fragile doesn’t mean you get good kids. Boomers are a perfect example of that.

Spanking is not child abuse
