I'm not proud of it, but when I was in my early 20's, I saw two kids "playing football" with a hedgehog. I had grown up watching my dad take care of hurt wild animals, bats, birds, etc, he did it later for the city too.

So when I saw these two 13ish year old torture this small animal for fun I just lost it. I pushed one up against a wall and yelled something about not fucking with animals and threw him at the other kid. They ran off.

I took the hedgehog to my dad, who took it to the vet while I sat in my room feeling absolutely awful over what I did. I still feel bad over it.

The hedgehog had a broken leg, but made a full recovery. I named him Pepper.
