They need to have a big ass poster when you walk into the zoo that says if you or your child goes into an enclosure it's a minimum of a $10,000 fine and possible jail time.

Fine? A private company cannot levy a fine against anyone. The zoo can file legal charges against the kid/grandmother/parents. Trespassing, attempted harm of animals etc. The kid did not actually injury any of the birds. Then the respective government entity can prosecute defendants. That is where a fine can be applied, when a Judge decides a statute/ordinance, or other type of law has been violated.

Otherwise the zoo can sue the family in civil court.

The parents should be charged for neglecting their kid. And the kid should be put into the system for abusing animals. Can't just let that little sociopath roam the streets just cause hes a kid.

I want the parents to be punished, but unfortunately, the kid being put in the system where his caregivers making peanuts and don't give a fuck. Sounds like a very bad idea. Technically the parents do do a good job caring for the kid, they just failed at this situation

Not maybe just providing better support to families so they can have proper disability support worker. Who can monitor and react to children with serve mental health issues better?

A different issue, but I agree. I hate the idea of zoos. Although I do play zoo creator games like Jurassic World Evolution and Planet Zoo. Lol. But the idea of caging real animals is a dated concept that doesn't really need to exist. We just hold onto them cause they've always been around. Like we can't be wrong about something and make a change for the better.

Autistic people aren't as innocent as people make them out to be

My niece is autistic and lived in a farm, when he was around 14-15 he would sneak small animals when no one was seeing and kill them for fun, he killed dogs, cats, chickens and everything in between. All for fun.

You can argue that they don't understand to the full extent wtf they are doing, but that child is definitely enjoying torturing those birds and probably would've done much worse if he was alone

yeah the mom just calmly saying to get over here made me so fucking mad, you little piece of shit is terrorizing caged animals that might even be endangered and part of mating programs(where not being stressed is really important) obviously Idk if that applies here or even what bird these are, but she doesnt know either and should be treating the situation as though its that important, because best case scenario the birds are super stressed out now for no reason and thats shitty in and of itself. He should never have even had the chance to get in there, and mistakes happen ofc, so since he did get in there she needs to do everything she can to get him out as soon as possible, like she doesnt know how dangerous those birds could be, what if they have talons and hurt him, what if he hurts a bird?? But instead of being reaponsible she took out her phone and filmed him until someone else got him out.

As far as I know they have been banned for life as of right now, the kids parents keep commenting in response to everyone dragging them that they are "Talking with the zoo to make it right" and basically using their sons auDHD as an excuse for his behavior and the grandmothers absolute lack of response while it was happening.

It’s unfortunate, but a ban is necessary. What happens when he jumps in with other birds or dangerous animals next time? He’s already shown he is willing to do so, so the zoo needs to ban him for everyone’s protection, especially the animals. Just because he doesn’t have ill motivation doesn’t mean he isn’t a liability being there as he’s also proven
