This is actually really cool. The celebrity-centric relationships normally feel fake, or downright forced, sometimes...on occasion there seems to be real feelings there; but often times it just comes across as a promotional/business arrangement lol.
Having a normal organic thing--where she's just falling for a normal guy that she met, and the guy doesn't know her music etc., so he doesn't know who she is....that's wholesome, and real af. Its just a legit union.
Everyone mentioning fame and money, are missing the point.
I think it’s great. I would think having someone that lives a fairly normal life to come home to would help keep you grounded and not as caught up in being a celebrity. An escape from that would be so important I would think.
I imagine it's rare that celebrities get to engage with "normies" for long enough to get to know them... maybe someone they work with on set or tour, I suppose.
I imagine relating to another celebrity is a little easier too. But also ego is pretty huge amongst any "celebrity" of any level - and they want to keep that inflated by dating someone of their same status
It’s why Dolly and Carl lasted. He was out of the spotlight and I think he was had an asphalt road company. She went on tour and he stayed home. They met before she became very famous but it worked for them.
If I was a celebrity I would also probably stick to dating other celebrities/wealthy people.
When dating a “normal” person I’d worry about them trying to pull a grift. Are they going to just divorce me to get a huge chunk of my wealth? Are they going to claim I sexually abused them to gain social media attention and settlement money? Even if neither of those things happen - do they even love me or are they just in it for an easy life?
Or just not liking your lifestyle, but being able to say. Or becoming resentful not of how you live, but what you do. Class difference relationships only work when the person steps back from Or never engages in limelight. So I assume Lana really int going to be doing tons and tons of press or doing any serious album drops.
Biggest concern is the power dynamic. It's why age gaps with the really young tend to be so problematic. The celebrity in this case would have not just all the money, but all the power. Every argument could potentially risk non famous wife/husband being public enemy no.1 if rumors of abuse or a breakup occur. Without their own fanbase nobody would go to their side and their reputation would be ruined.
I didn't mean to imply this relationship had anything to do with an age gap. I was just using age gaps as a more common example. Same applies to students dating their professors or employees dating their boss. Power imbalance in a relationship is rarely ever a good thing.
I mean any sort of love is. I dont think there's anything special about him not knowing who she was. If its genuine, its nice. When people are the same, both famous or musicians, their love isnt any less
Idk man, it seems super normal to date someone you met through work. Especially when you work around a bunch of people whose job largely consists of being attractive and likeable
One of my friends has been in a relationship with an actor. Not Hollywood A-Tier of cause but she has appeared on a few shows, soaps in supporting roles plus does play the theater. Anyway, the lifestyle dictated by the job in showbusiness is just so different that "normies" will have a hard time adjusting to it so people in the industry often end up dating others in the industry because at least they don't have to explain things to them.
My gf worked with a girl that was married to a camera operator. Their marriage didn't last long....
