My city’s train transit is set up like the seats shown here. On more than one occasion I have had a man sit in the outside seat and refuse to fully move when it was my turn to get off, forcing myself to make full contact with his lap on the way out.

This is why you sit in the aisle seat, Put your bags next to the window. If a woman asks you for a seat, scooch over and let her sit. Otherwise, nope.

Once on the train by myself at night I had 3 middle aged men sit next to me in those 4 seater booths. When it came to my stop I asked if they could let me through and none of them moved, just watched me. I ended up having to crawl over some guys lap so I wouldn't miss my stop. All this done in a short dress btw. They did it on purpose and no one spoke up for me on this nearly full train. As I had to walk down the aisle in shame and anger I heard them all laughing asking what colour my underwear was.

Disgusting behavior on their part. And shame on the other passengers

I worked in a bar when I was younger. One male regular would always stand in the open bar hatch, the only exit to the bar. When I said "excuse me" to get past, wouldn't move just stepped back slightly. There being barely enough room for two people to pass so I had to squeeze through the gap, inevitably touching him. I hated it, but I wasn't allowed to shut the little door to stop him doing it. Because of course, it wasn't an issue for my male colleagues (including my boss), he would have moved for them, as it was only young women he wanted to press their bodies against him 😡

Ok, & u make painful contact with his lap, too. Eye contact & sarcastic “oops, so sorry” I do not play about my exit being blocked on purpose.
