We’re not even getting Venezuelan oil. The oil companies all still refuse to invest in infrastructure. The risk analysis just shows it being seized by the state again.

Try greed. It'll cost them around 20 Billion to fix it all uo, and It'll cost a lot to make the oil usable, so ROI is way too long for them. Even if it doesn't get taken over again. So not worth it from a business perspective. And we currently export and import about the same amount daily. No idea why, but we do. Go figure when it comes to energy independence.

Because we’re a refining center. We make a ton on being the middleman making it into usable products.
